The artist told us he may add some parts of the castle and the other two wolves at the entrance. Yeah!! :)

That's one piece of chocolate I would hate to have melt. :p

Nora, I think you're getting a-head of yourself. What would they do about people touching it?

Oh wait. I just read your idea about the glass case. People will try to touch the chocolate wolves, but that glass case idea will clearly tell them: "Ha-ha! They are beyond your reach!"

Okay I'm done.

...

...and I hope the rest of your forum experience is just as... terrifying!

...

...I'll show myself out...

I'm terrible about looking back through threads, so....

Has anyone else tried the Bushwhacker yet? I had one yesterday. Sooo good but man, it had a lot of alcohol in it! Either that or I'm a lightweight nowadays :(

I really liked the Scottish egg; so much that I'm looking up recipes online to make at home. ;) There really wasn't anything I tried yesterday that I didn't like.

Yesterday, there was only one dish with which I was dissapointed. The Choclate Lava Cake at the American Southwest booth was pretty dissapointing. The proper way to make one, is put a solid ball of icing in the center of cake batter, bake, and then when you slice into it the choclate is supposed to ooze out. They just cooked a choclate cake, and after it was done, injected hot fudge through the top. The sad thing was that there was barely any fudge in mine, it was pretty dissapointing. The cake itself tasted good, execution was terrible though.

Had a Bushwhacker yesterday, and I'm 190 lb. It knocked me for a bit of a loop. They did not skimp on the alcohol and yes it was very tasty!

Everything I have tried so far has exceeded my expectations; however, the serving size for the Bangers and Colcannon in Ireland was disappointing. Last year they filled the entire container with the colcannon (mashed potatoes w/ cooked cabbage) and this year, they barely put any in it, the banger covered it up. I had to ask, "Is this it?" for the first time. The serving size was definitely not worth the price I paid and I used my discount. I feel sorry for those who had to pay the full price for it. Also the cabbage, while cooked just fine, was in much larger pieces than it was last year and it felt a bit too much. Maybe if the pieces were smaller yet still just as much it would have been on par.

Also, I had the Shepard's Pie and quite honestly, the lamb tasted a lot like beef. I was pleasantly surprised. I typically only eat your basic meats, Pig, Chicken, and Cow. But now I guess you can add lamb to the list because it was delicious and tasted much better than what my family makes.

Finally, the Schnitzelwich is really better. The meat is thicker and juicier and the lemon slice is also juicier. Plus they put a really good amount of butter on the bottom portion of the bun and boy does it taste yummy, definitely not healthy, but very yummy.

Finally sampled enough for a decent post, so here is some "food" for thought... ;)

*I hear the Fish Taco at the American Southwest booth is selling like crazy.  Haven't had it yet (not a big fish eater) but peer pressure is a b*^&#. ;)
**The Fish Taco pictured here was for Peter R.

Scotland:

- Scottish Egg
10258063_906634202695898_8511883265564952792_o.jpg

One of my F&WF favorites.  Basically it is like a giant hush puppy stuffed with a boiled egg & sausage with some spicy mustard.

Greece:

- Halloumi
1465893_906634186029233_3229159803413647886_o.jpg

Grilled cheese with honey, sweet & crunchy stuff. Yummy!

- Baklava
10257541_906634189362566_7820390769942329632_o.jpg

Flaky, honey pastry.  Sweet!!

Spain:

- Venera con Jamón
10371220_906634299362555_6817175133494404009_o.jpg

Stepped out of my comfort zone with this as I am not much of a seafood lover.  Was pleasantly surprised with this ham-wrapped scallop and rice dish.  Pricy. :(

Germany:

- Schnitzelwich
10403753_906634402695878_1352834161153781782_o.jpg

I was told this was the number one seller for the F&WF last year.  I enjoyed it thoroughly and it was one of the few things that satisfied my hunger by itself.  It reminds me of a chicken filet sandwich except with pork.

- Currywurst
10265489_906634416029210_8464908702924525695_o.jpg

Another F&WF favorite from last year.  Juicy, cut-up hot dogs with french fries.  Mmmmmm...

France:

- Steak au Poivre
10428381_906634526029199_742714743772374445_o.jpg

Delicious & juicy, peppery steak bites in a little gravy.  Really good, but pricy for amount.

Canada:

*This booth is probably my favorite by way of me liking everything on the menu.

- Cheddar & Lager Chowder
10338536_906634632695855_3769349811236043315_o.jpg

Loved it last year; this year is no different.

- Macaroni & Cheese with Peameal Bacon
10257427_906634666029185_537834470663383775_o.jpg

A new offering this year.  It's basically macaroni & cheese with bacon...Awesome!!

- Pumpkin Caramel Mousse
10286779_906634746029177_3743294958654516427_o.jpg

One of my favorite dessert items at the F&WF.  Pumpkin pudding with a caramel topping.

Scandinavia:

- Smørrebrød
10333323_906635182695800_421843366655594700_o.jpg

Another risk for me.  I don't like horse radish, pickles or red onions.  I do however like roast beef and rye bread.  It was OK I guess, but I didn't eat all of it and it was pricy.

- Krumkake
10258878_906635239362461_5045323376378572907_o.jpg

Another yummy dessert.  It's a little waffle cone filled with cream and a berry topping.

American Southwest:

- Sonoran Spice Pork
10321074_906635446029107_6261834392000128703_o.jpg

Delicious pork and peppers; don't like slaw in general and this was no different, but I took another risk.

- Chocolate Lava Cake
10264062_906635529362432_7548334519394895615_o.jpg

Very tasty chocolate cake; not so much "lava-y" as I had hoped.  Still a decent deal though.

Belgium:

- Wafel met Waterzooi
10382084_906635742695744_2643560572922420717_o.jpg

The Belgian version of a chicken pot pie.  It had me at WAFFLES & CHICKEN.  One of my new favorites!

- Huis van Lum Chocolate Wafel
10257660_906635796029072_8393373579360619103_o.jpg

A new dessert and another risk 'cause I don't like raspberries.  The chocolate brownie waffle was crispy and delicious.  I managed to choke down the raspberry topping, but that's a personal problem.  Not sure if I would get this again.  I do love waffles!

Italy:

*This is the place to be if you want a lot of delicious desserts!!

10293617_906635002695818_7445472569987569760_o.jpg

- Panna Cotta
A vanilla pudding shaped like a big, upside-down Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, and a sliced strawberry.

- Tiramisu
A yummy, coffee-flavored pudding.

- Cannoli
A crispy, creme-filled pastry (though sometimes too crispy)

More to come...stay tuned!! ;)

The bangers came in a nice portion but the colcannon was just a bit less than what I had last year. It's not a huge issue but I won't be getting it as much this year.

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way about the Choclate-lava cake. Thanks for the pictures, it will really help me plan future dishes.

By the way, does anyone have a favorite booth character? I said it once already, but after my trip yesterday, I'll say it again. The lady at the Greece booth was so social the first time we came, and we loved her so much then. We came back this week, and surprisingly she remembered us! We talked for about half an hour. I got the Baklava, and she was so informative. She told us how her family prepared it, and how the two styles differed, we even talked about foods at different booths. We had a long conversation about the portion size and taste of the Scottish Toffe. She is so informative, and social. I'd definitely reccomend you go talk to her the next time
You visit the Greek booth, trust me, you won't regret it.

I didn't get a chance to stop and talk to her, but she definitely seemed the friendliest at the booths. Every time we passed her she was waving (even at the train as it passed).

The fish taco was pretty good. The lime cream sauce that is on it was very yummy. I just wish the fish pieces were a little bigger, but that's my only complaint (and not much of a complaint).

The mac n cheese with bacon was good too.

I also tried two crepes in France; the asparagus and goat cheese, and the spinach and mushroom. Both were good; I'm not used to savory crepes so it took me a few bites to get used to the idea. I don't like balsamic vinegar though so I think I'd like them better if I could ask for them to leave it off. Personal preference issue, not a recipe issue.
