RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

BGW Family said:
Yes, that is him. He came from KD to BGW and now on to STILETTO, I believe. We like him very much. He and Kassie are a very cute couple. We wish them all the best!!

If you look out on YouTube, I think there is a video of the whole "All Access" show from 2011. Jeff has his own solo moment as the role of Elvis (I think it is the scene after the opening number). He likes to play it up when in character!

There might be some video of the 2011 version of the Haunt show "The Night Shift" out there with Jeff as well. I just don't know if the whole show was filmed or just snippets.

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

This cast had a lot of "chemistry" between them, and friendship.

(OOPS! Same file posted twice under different designations!)

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

I can now confirm that the new Dr. Freakenstien has been officially cast. Who is the lucky performer? He just finished up the national tour of Shrek the Musical, it is Perry Sook! For more information about him, check out his website at www.perrysook.com

Do you think he can fill the position?

As far as the look for the part, I think so. Now acting, we shall see.

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

I just want to know about the nurses wigs. Please tell me they are getting new ones, and not using the same ones as last year. Or are going back to the shorter wigs from 2011.

The ones from last year, by the final night look like rats nests. I wanted to mourn for those wigs.

At the very least they could have brushed them after a show. Hell I'd do it for free, I can tame monster wigs. with some warm water and some soap it'll be tangle free in no time.

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

I didn't see it last year when I was at HOS but I will make an attempt to this year.

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

Simplicity is gone. Her replacement is... different. The new doctor is... different. I don't know. I need to adjust.

I will say though, all the new pop culture references (Twitter, Facebook, Justin Bieber, etc.) are not welcome additions. They cheapen the show tremendously in my opinion.

Anyway, long story short (I'm sure I'll have plenty more to say soon), it's not performing anywhere near where it was at the beginning of last year. Igor is great, The Creature is great, but overall, things are rough.

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

Why... Why would you add pop-culture references to a show that didn't need them? Last year's version was perfect.

Casting adjustments I understand. But, the line is drawn with pop-culture references. Because most of those are old internet memes that have been beaten to death, and it's just not funny.

The show clearly did not need the references last year, why should you add them this year. To "spice up the show" is not an excuse or valid reason. The revamped show is a year old. That doesn't mean you change it enough to add that stuff in there. This isn't Tampa.

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

I'm very sad to hear about this. Last year's show was perfection, which is saying a lot for Scott. The addition of these pop culture jokes make me think of all those "Date Movie" things which are unfunny and only put references in for the sake of putting them in because there's this weird conception that if you reference something popular, everybody thinks it's funny.

It's cheap, just like KK and the DJ, it's putting something in simply because it's popular without stopping to ask, "Is this even going to be good?"

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

I haven't seen this year's show but they did pop culture references in Tampa's show and I enjoyed it. I don't think it necessarily ruins the show.

I still love Fiends. New doctor was good. I didn't think I'd like him at first, but thought he did a good job. Igor is great. Justin Bieber crap is ridiculous. I groaned as soon as I saw it. Maybe the nurses blind me to everything else that is going on.

The crowd today cracked up at the Beiber reference, although it makes no real sense it worked. The show worked. I knew we'd miss Jeff, but the new guy did OK (even though the 2nd time we saw the show his mic broke for a song and they had someone in the back singing for him).

We LOVED the vampire guy. He sang great, a lot of energy. The show was obviously good enough for us that we took the time to go back a 2nd time instead of doing mazes again. Hey, it's never going to be Rockin Eve's midnight or Monster Stomp, but the cast had energy, they seem to be able to sing in tune.

And for a first day show, they were more polished than the 1st day last year.

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

*Sniff* It's ok...not really, because no one could top Jeff. :D

I can't ever get past my first favorites in shows, no one will ever be as good as them! The new Dr. can sing and he can act...but they totally killed the dialogue!! That is my truest and biggest problem with the show. Unfortunately, that won't change with practice.

I agree, they can all can sing well, but they just need to find their characters. The werewolf especially!

I don't think there were as many nurses, but that was fine. They seemed to clog the stage a little last year.

Applesauce: The length of the wigs were fine, but they did look ratty already! Some weren't staying on too well, either.
