RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

Could they get rid of that arcade, splashus maximus, and the food stand? All those could be moved around festa and they might be able to squeeze something in there?

Could they just take all of those things out anyway?:p

You mean like this?

I present to you, my concept for Poseidon's Treasures. It's a small aquarium exhibit located where the games are in Festa. It has one large tank with multiple smaller tanks with animal from a wide variety of aquatic environments from all across the globe. This will be used to show a huge amount of biodiversity in the world's waters.

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

I agree Festa Italia could use some changes but personally for me it's my favorite part of the park.

that's ausome! the park does need more animals outside of the wild reserve and this would be the perfect way to do it. absoloutely love it!

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

I thought today that if they changed Festa into Greece, they could add a maze and name it Labyrith. It would be intersting since park mazes are slowly disappearing.

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

Yeah, I hear you Hoopla. I actually submitted that too years back. I called it the "Minotaur's Maze" (over in the area next to Roman Rapids... thus allowing some cool themeing for Howl-O-Scream too.

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

I think it could be a popular attraction with good theming and a hard maze. Of course people will get lost, so they could do like they do at HoS and have security guards standing by exits in case someone got lost. I would do the maze.

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

Honestly, with the level of stupidity that can be found in a relatively large percentage of park guests, a maze could be a logistics nightmare for the park. Parents losing children, children going in alone and parents getting worried, pairs teenagers trying to get lost (if you know what I mean), graffiti, capacity, and even just nightly clean-up. I think the Minotaur theme could be a great, but, at least in a theme park setting, a darkride themed after it probably makes more sense. Are there even any mazes still left at amusement parks anymore?

Also, the attraction wouldn't be really exciting once you figure out how to walk through it. It might be a fun for one time visitors but locals and passholders that frequently visit the park would skip it after a few walkthroughs.

I remember the old mirror maze in Hastings. That didn't last long because it wasn't very popular.

There are some left. Mainly at boardwalk parks or parks that have been around for a thousand years :). There are a few in Ocean City. But yes, there are mazes still left in amusement parks.

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

They could rename Apollo's Chariot to "Zeus' Thunderbolt" & fit better w/the Greek theme? And I agree...the food in the Greece area would be OUTSTANDING!

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

I'm not sold on the Greek re-theming of Festa.

Not to knock your ideas (which I think have been pretty damn creative) but the Greek theme is too easy to do. Having been to parks with Greek themes (Mt Olympus in Wisconsin Dells and Parc Asterix in France) I would rather see BGW do something totally unique.

But Unagi- Greek Food! I love Greek food. Dolmadakia, Tzatziki, Moussaka, Gyros OH MY! Not to mention Baklava. I would go through a Gluten induced coma for some ice cream covered Baklava with honey.

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

This is just a thrown out idea, but what if they converted it into Turkey, or maybe even the european side of Russia. I just thought of it so I didn't put much thought into things.

Greek food would be a nice option especially if they served galaktoboureko.

Maybe the park should sell the food anyway. Six Flags Great Adventure even has a gyro stand that I always go to when I visit there and there is no Greek themed area in that park (Bizarro doesn't count when it was Medusa either).

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

I'm still 100% behind a complete and total Greek retheme, but they would need to gut the entire hamlet, bulldoze it. The only thing that should remain is Apollo. Move all the flat rides else where. Start from scratch in that area.

RE: Festa Italia Renovation/Retheme?

It's really surprising how little I venture into Festa Italia. I never walk beyond the Basketball game if I go with friends. If I have my nephew with me, I may go on the tea cups. It ends there.
