This kind of hysteria is why ChickenHawk likes to stay on the downlow.

I think Carter does make a good point, in regard to SOME of the views here being "I hate EITA" but "EITA is shut down now?" It does come across as a little silly.

For me, though it makes me sick, I did like to have an occasional nausea session on this thing. Plus, it was something I COULD ride (big boy). While I can't speak for everybody and I don't really know about the budget stuff, I do hope that many of the folks being upset about this is because of they way it has been handled. Europe in the AIR...CLOSED!! No warning. No chance to ride it before it closed. Just closed. That is all.

Please do! I'll be sure to take notes. I assume you'll be there tonight covering IllumiNights? Think we can sit down and talk about your miraculous journalism techniques?

Ummm, the site found someone (Thanks to ChickenHawk) to be at the park at opening to confirm that this was true before moving forward with the news. This has again, also been confirmed by multiple sources so I dont see your point?

Zachary is on his way to the park now to be able to report on illuminights.

There are still other people here who can address any concerns you have.

Sure! My 1.2million followers on my blog would love to join in. Is that okay? I hear Busch could use the boost in revenue despite attendance already being up.

I want to also add, I could care less about it closing. What I care about is the reason why, and the reason is has been is money. Which has caused more problems than most people know. It's also the reason we have a shitty illuminights events, along with an upcoming shitty HOS event. But of course there aren't budget issues, right?

Off-topic gentlemen. Let's keep this civil :p

Like I said, there's a difference between cutting the fat of programs that a new owner inherited and being in serious financial trouble.

And heh, you're doing great David. I was just having a little fun with my good friend Zach ;)

Why is that silly? Let's use an analogy -- suppose I love my local Chuck E. Cheese restaurant, but hate the ball pit. I never go in the ball pit, you know, but still, I love Chuck E. Cheese. One day, I go up to Chuck E. Cheese and they're like, "sorry Doctor, but the ball pit is closed tonight because we're going broke and can't afford to operate it any more." Even though I hate the ball pit, this may be a cause for concern to me, because it means my beloved Chuck E. Cheese family pizza restaurant and game room is in a bad situation. Seems legit to me.

Said it comes across as being silly. Meaning I understand why someone would think that. I am not in this argument. You of all people know my sarcasm. That is all.

It's already been posted on the BGW facebook page from a fan.

Europe in the Air is closed for the rest of 2013. Tommy, whatever their reason, if it really is for budget reasons, they most likely won't disclose that info to the public. But hopefully they do release some sort of 'official' notice, something more than just closing it and putting a note on their website that its closed.

:I can't imagine them closing down a ride permanently because of budget issues. What rides have you heard are closing?

Ugh! I hate how FB does their responses on fanpages now! Blah!

MOD Edit: Cleaned up the post a bit for better understanding.

This is PURELY speculation/opinion here, but I expect one of two things to happen tonight/tomorrow.

1.) If enough fuss/complaints are raised, EiTA reopens tomorrow for an extremely short period of time then has "an official closing" to appease the GP
2.) Tonight, quite a few lifts get to work in Killarney and remove the EiTA signs and wind sock from the top of the turret to make it definite so the GP knows "whats up"

Either way I really have no preference. There are way too many things going on in the park tonight to focus on just one facet of it all.

Oh and I really don't think that this was an overnight decision. Think about it for a second. Something new debuts in Ireland tonight - to fill in an ugly hole. Might as well offset something with something flashier, i.e. bring some Kommotion in another area.
