Geez, that picture really shows how...how blue that water is...not to mention how crowded that water looks with the boats & the fire hose water guns! That really is an amazing picture though!

Went on this Sunday, and when I got in line they were testing for maintenance issues, Which was no big surprise. The secondary ride operator was standing right beside me because I was in the last row waiting at the gate. And we started talking and she said that there is a total of 5 boats but hey can only run 4 because the other one was shipped off to get repairs. Apparently towards the end of last year something major broke on it, and it needs to be repaired. Anyone else have any info. on this?

I know someone who used to be a lead there a few years back... he said that they only have four boats, no more, no less... so unless they got a new boat this year, they only have 4 boats

I think Pompeii looks great this year. Seeing the little boats brings me great joy. I used to spend all my quarters on those little boats by Nessie growing up... that is if I wasn't playing in the Arcade.

Noticed they added a volcano to draw peoples attention I thought it was a very nice touch. On A busy summer day you will always see people playing with these. Sometimes I even stop to play on them I think they are very cool.

Yea that's what I thought at first when she said it but I saw a boat #5, and saw that they were missing another one that was a number 1-5 but, I can't remember specifically which one it was though.

The water itself is not really blue at all, the pool the water is in got a new coat of bright blue paint during the off season.

Also, the Volcano goes off when ever a boat goes through it. The smoke you see is actually water vapor and not really smoke.

This volcano has always been there. It hasn't been there for a long time, but it is not new.

That's actually what I was referring to, the basin coloring (that's what you see, though); During Pompeii's "Pre-Sundial" years, the water was much lighter and more natural-looking, as opposed to its deep-sea blue we see today.

Pompeii's original water basin coloring, a natural, light blue:

Pompeii's current deep sea blue--very dark and very pretty, it contrasts nicely to the gardens around the ride (as opposed to the former "ruins" they had), although I did find the older, lighter blue more calm and natural:

How ironic. No smoking on a ride with fire :p

Not so, somewhat. They use propane, so if you set of some sparks in the wrong spot, you better run. It needs to burn the propane in just the right spot.
