Yeah a multi year retracking which is just a series of partial retacking leaving a large window of vulerablity. Even when competed won't safeguard ET if another incident happens. So stop huffing the hopium and derailing this thread with low key ad hominems. Instead of discussing the topic you went straight to petty personal attacks which indicates you lack any meaningful counter argument, sad.

Then why are you wasting your time on internet forums complaining about what others are complaining about LOL. This isn't Kiwi Farms. Again with the personal attacks instead of addressing the actual position, weak sauce. Let's try to refrain from insults and discuss the topic like adults.

It’s clear El Toro is getting work done, is retracking all it needs? No but that doesn’t mean it won’t get that additional work. This park is now being run by a company that actually takes care of its rides, both of Toro’s accidents were avoidable, I don’t see any reason why another would occur now that it’s maintenance is being made a priority again. Toro is safe for the foreseeable future.

Rides I could see being on the chopping block are Skull Mountain, Runaway Train (based on the unkown future of that building), and any of the older B&Ms not named Nitro (that ride will get a retrack before it’s scrapped). That being said there shouldn’t be ANY more removals for the foreseeable future with the amount of holes that need filling and how empty the park feels as a whole.

I really don’t believe Runaway Mine Train or Batman are in any danger. They’re both low maintenance people pleasers and have some of the most consistent uptime in the park. I agree with Skull Mountain but think it’s a few years out.

CF has removed rides that had major work recently performed before so they do not let sunk costs affect their decisions. Transitions from old to new track can be problem areas which is why its generally better to retrack all at once. It also tends to avoid "tolerance stacking" vs piecemeal retracking. Hopefully it will be ok and its probably a lower at risk ride.

I do agree about Mine Train, its the oldest operating coaster in the park and an orphan make. Its also partially over water which complicates maintenance. Being attached to a defunct tramway station doesn't help.

Another possibility for removal is the in park safari Station because its redundant now and uses up space for future attractions.

I keep derailing this thread bc it’s unnecessary and designed to speculate based on nothing and stress people out for nothing. And you’re in every thread about Great Adventure talking about how the park is ruined and will never recover. That’s all I’ll say, you can continue your doomer crusade in here. Just understand it’s really annoying when people are trying to have actual discussions about the future of the park and you come in with wild baseless accusations of the park’s inevitable ruin.

Getting rid of Mine Train would be detrimental for young ones.

It seems with these mass ride removals that mid level family rides are the most often ones to be purged.

Not rides but more so an attraction. The Batman arena next to Wonder Woman to my knowledge hasn't seen a show for years except for fright fest (?) It sits on a very valuable piece of land next to Batman the ride and Wonder Woman. With that whole movie town/DC area getting its makeover in previous years I wouldn't be surprised if its days are numbered and replaced with something else.

Also does anyone know any updates with the northern star arena? i recall it was going to be demo'd in 2023 but havent seen anything else going on with it.

I’m honestly surprised these two arenas have stuck around this long. Kinda assumed their days were numbered after Aqua Spectacle and the Grandstand were demoed, and banning all metal concerts over Ronnie Radke’s outburst (y’know, the guy who was arrested for domestic violence a month prior) was certainly a choice.

Right now part of the safari truck path goes though those woods so either they build a large opening in the ride structure to allow 5 ton trucks to pass, reroute the truck path, or discontinue in park safari boarding. At least the northern area has embankment that help to hide as well as that huge trailer office complex.

Bringing this over from the Skyride thread as its more relevant here.

This is a chart showing the flat ride count at GAdv taken from the GAdv history website.

As we can see the park has ups and downs in flat rides over its history and its been down since 2007. So for the 2025 season the park will be down to 14 flats, 20 rides as of 2020 minus the 6 from 2024, the lowest number in its history and 9 below historical average.

And the Oklahoma City Thunder won like 15-25 games for 3-4 straight seasons after offloading Westbrook and Paul George’s massive albatross contracts. Now they’re title contenders with a bunch of guys on rookie contracts.

The park is gonna feel a bit bare for a while while they undo the damage old Six Flags did. This is not news to anyone. The chart is cool though

EDIT: I know I keep rehashing the same analogy but it’s the best way I can illustrate the vision I believe SF has for this park. It has the size, location, and history to be their true east coast flagship

A better sport team analogy would be a team that has been understaffed for 18 years. The team has been letting go of players at a much higher rate than hiring replacement players for 18 years. It also has been suffering a rotating door of new owners and coaches. Every new owner and coach fires a round of players as their first move in their tenure. The newest coach to be hired, who lead a disastrous season that destroyed fan goodwill has near the end of his first season decided to fire 8 team players at once. However, he promises to hire one new player in 1 and a half years to replace the 8 former members. Moreover, this single new player is promised to break all sorts of sports records and that the entire future of the even further understaiffed team rests on his shoulders alone. Its a big and dubious gamble.

I'm not sure that he's trying to discredit your analogy, but rather clarify that there are multiple perspectives here - notice he said it was simply a better analogy. I think both views are valid, but it is important for everyone to remember that we aren't looking at a rebuilding year. More likely it will be closer to a rebuilding decade before we can see GAdv back in its prime. The park will be worth the investment, but it's going to take a LOT of time.

As for endangered rides here, I still wonder about Superman. Could we be looking at a relocation within the park at some point? Who knows what that would actually cost...

Correct, I wasn't trying to discredit the sport analogy, just polish it. One of the problems with the 10 year time frame for rebuilding is that the length of time rasies risk. Every weak season will make it exponentially more difficult for the park to recover. This plan will only work if Zimmerman stays on board for another decade and not jump out in a couple of years like his predecessors.

Now there's rumors that this will be Medusa's last year, which just seems crazy to me given it's now the only full circuit, large looping roller coaster at the park and is fairly reliable.
