These rumors came from an EastCoasters tweet that was deleted shortly after. I wouldn’t put too much stock in it, rumors about Medusa have been around since like 2014.Now there's rumors that this will be Medusa's last year, which just seems crazy to me given it's now the only full circuit, large looping roller coaster at the park and is fairly reliable.
Why don't they just add rides to that area to increase traffic...Medusa has ALWAYS been considered for removal simply because of its location and that it could be relocated anywhere with a flat piece of land.
This. Especially if they get rid of the Northern Star Arena, that opens up a nice chunk of land to build a major coaster to bring people to that section of the park. Why don't they just add rides to that area to increase traffic...
It would make more sense to narrow the footprint of the park at this point. After years of expansion, the middle of the park needs the added attractions. Why don't they just add rides to that area to increase traffic...
Wasn't there rumblings of some kind of hyper/giga that was going to replace the arena the other year? Weren't they already clearing some land by the arena for it, then Selim canceled it?This. I would love a retheme to the Joker (or its removal) and an opening of the lakefront. I always thought that the space where fort Independence was could be so much better utilized. It would make more sense to narrow the footprint of the park at this point. A retheme would be fine, there are better uses of resources in my opinion but I can see the logic. A removal, however? It’s got a really nice position on the lakefront and looks great at the end of the main street when you first walk into the park. Nothing wrong with the ride experience eitherI would love a retheme to the Joker (or its removal) and an opening of the lakefront. It was called Total Mayhem in the original announcement.I would love a retheme to the Joker (or its removal) and an opening of the lakefront.
I agree, and I feel like the new Six Flags management will focus more on original names and going back to old themes. There's a lot of history at Great Adventure they could tap into.I would love a retheme to the Joker (or its removal) and an opening of the lakefront. I still think the most logical step the park could make is to relocate (or just remove) Joker and turn the whole Lakefront from the Fountain to BBNP into the kids area of the park and then Yum Yum would be the center of it all. Centralizing the kids area works well for events like HitP, and means it would be easy to close off during Fright Fest with limited access points.
