Has anyone else noticed that a lot of the GP don't understand the straddle-coaster concept at all?? They'll ride DarKoaster sitting completely straight up, resulting in some whiplash and discomfort. Due to this much of the GP I've talked to think this ride is rough and jerky (which it isn't).

I find the ride jerky and rough for what it is no matter what I do, the seats are dogshit. Not ofc its not rough in a alpengeist sense but its deffiently not butter smoothe

I have had the same experience, and I wonder if the compact layout contributes to it. On something like Wave Breaker at SWSA, which uses the same seats, I never have a problem with roughness.

Could this be retrofitted with Intamin's controlled spinning cars if they wanted to in the future? Doing so could make this ride fantastic with proper theming and possible lower the heigh limitation?
Only issue I could see is ride envelope clearance but this would be a great change they should make down the road.

Even if they just retroed it with a standard 2-across train and changed the story from ghost hunting to horse drawn carriage ride on the first lap and then the horses are possessed by wolf spirits in the second lap that would be a massive improvement.

With regards to the smoothness conversation- having reridden DarKoaster again with my mom this past Friday, there's definitely some shakiness at points, though I personally didn't find the ride particularly uncomfortable. After getting off, I asked my mom (who is definitely not an enthusiast) if she found it rough, and she said no.

I got a ride on it thursday 2nd row and me and my wife had a way smoother time than we did during howl o scream

Was waiting in line when the announcement came on that they were shutting down the ride due to mechanical issues, they cleared everyone out the queue.

They wasn't an established timeline for wether the coaster would be back up for the day.

Sorry, been a while since I was active on here, but did we determine if the park just straight ripped off the placeholder name this site gave the ride? I was loosely keeping tabs on all of this when they were building it and I seem to recall that DarKoaster was the temp name on the thread and I audibly laughed when they announced it. Like they couldn't care to come up with something better.

They took the ride down for about 30 min for a cosmetic reason (handlebar). Seemed a little overkill. But what do I know? I would've understood it a bit better if they had done a safety check on all the remaining handlebars. Or just closed that seat, or didn't load that train. It gave me a chuckle through my frustration.
