From what I’ve heard, it’s some sort of recall. Not sure with what.Does anyone know what's wrong with it? I'm going to assume it's some systemic issue with the trains given that all of them are down (and the SFNE has been removed from the website).
I'm not sure that people would be willing to share the specifics but it's a significant defect that needs to be fixed and tested. I would it expect it to be down for a while.Does anyone know what's wrong with it? That is certainly interesting, but was April 8th the last day this ride operated? If it was something this big, the park would not have operated the ride until the manufacturer was consulted and I see that there were forum posts about riding it in May, so this probably wasn't someone getting out of the harness. Someone getting out of restraints when locked is a big deal and the park would have shut the ride down immediately and indefinitely. We had a situation when I worked at Mach where a guest physically pushed open and broke the restraint during a shutdown. This was while the ride was on the ground (harnesses just didn't unlock after cycle) and we were manually opening each one. This guy got impatient and forced his open. We stayed closed while maintenance figured out what happened and it turned out that his was only locked on one side and being a big dude, who also had been drinking, was able to break the cylinder and they had to replace it. That said, it was down for at least a day while they made sure that someone couldn't force it open in the air. If it was able to occur while the restraint was fully locked, as it is during the ride cycle, they may have just shuttered it then instead of a few years later.View attachment 38534
This was shot on April. 8th along with an accompanying video. I was in line for last row, When the ride went down, I started filming the dispatch booth, and I swore I could see a person had gotten out of the restraints.
The crew was waving their hands at me as though not to film, so I never posted this. In light of the recall, however, I am curious if it is a restraint issue.
I’m not sure if anyone can see anything in this photo. The video isn’t much more conclusive although I can see the back of someone’s shirt as though they’re not in the restraint.
Wild speculation but thought I would share, if anyone else has had incidents of filming the dispatch booth, which is right next to the last row to board the train for Darkoaster.
What’s interesting is we’re seeing the reflection of the train in that picture. The 3rd row seat registering as “locked” is the one in the up position, and the seat next to it is registering as not having reached minimum verify, despite clearly being pushed down.
Last I heard the SEAS straddles all shuttered early June, with Arctic Rescue being the last to close, about 2 hours into the day on the 4th or 5th.That is certainly interesting, but was April 8th the last day this ride operated? Could that just be one of the “ghostly figures” that show up on the first lap? I’m trying to get my bearing of where on launch 2 that camera is sitting and which way it is facing.View attachment 38534

Correct! Time for Santa to return to The kastleSafe to say this isn’t opening by August right haha
Or a new horror rideCorrect! Time for Santa to return to The kastle![]()
I'd be happy with controlled spinning cars with the ride we currently haveNormal trains without a max height limit, please and thank you.
Or better yet, a good dark ride in the dark ride show building. I don't know much about theme park financing, but a slow-moving dark ride could fit the theme well still and CAN'T be more expensive to maintain than a whole roller coaster. Bring back Omni-movers
EDIT: After some preliminary research, omni-movers never left. Regional US parks just aren't building them. Scrap DarKoaster and change that, BGW![]()
