Am I crazy or is Darkoaster like... really rough? For what it is? The seats are terrible and don't do it no favors. It does no feel like a year old ride. My wife got off it literally hurting.

I'm convinced that it's 75% the seat design. It's not a glass smooth coaster by any means, but I imagine that if you put anything other than the least ergonomic, hardest plastic, oddly sharp-edged, obnoxiously low-backed seats in the industry on it, no one would notice at all. Those "seats" just send every minute vibration directly into your tailbone and spine.

I enjoy DK more now that I've learned to ride it. Every curve is banked far more than it needs to be, and if you attempt to fully follow it the seat back can beat you up. Instead, lean forward slightly and use the banking approaching the curve to let you know it's coming, lean in slightly but let the train bank much further under you. Note I don't use the handlebars as arms are too short but use the handle on the restraint.

If I gotta do all that to enjoy a brand new ride.. then it's simply a terribly designed ride. It's not even worth riding as is unless it's a complete walkon. God I miss DarKastle. Meanwhile spiderman down in IOA is still going to this day. How much did DarKoaster cost?

I personally don't find Darkoaster rough at all, at least as of my last ride in May. Has it gotten significantly worse since then?

It's extremely easy, just not obvious. Another way to state it is you let the train twist under you mostly without you, and then just hold there through the actual turn. As soon as you stop fearing it and holding on tight, it becomes quite mild with an actual "straddle" feeling due to the banking rather than throwing you around instead like my first ride. Saw a complaint about not being able to predict the curves in the dark, but that's the opposite of the problem, if there even is one.

Can't answer that. Ive lost 40 pounds in the last months and this week was my 1st time able to ride stuff at the park in the last 7 years lol Maybe me being bigger doesn't help for those seats

I don't know but it was way cheaper than verbolten because it was built in an existing building

Almost all ride prices published are meaningless numbers.
When you publish numbers for the public, you make the number as big as possible by including other costs, such as midway improvements not related to the ride, food location and bathroom renovations (it could be said to be related to increase capacity due to increased demand from the new ride) and replacement of underground utilities in the area unrelated to the ride.
Now when you publish numbers for shareholders, you make the number as small as possible. For example, if the ride requires a new power trunk line, maybe you don't count the cost of installing it, as you can say that the power line can also be used for other future attractions.
