I am prepared to die on the hill that in 5 years time when the hype as died down, the waits are reasonable, we all have had time to heal our wounds from the gutting of our beloved dark castle, darkoaster will be revered as one of the most average middle of the pack, great to beat the heat rides in the park, it’s not bad it’s not amazing, it’s just there and we don’t mind it.
Really makes me think about how the biggest gap left for the park to fill the rest of the decade is bringing an indoor attraction back to Ireland to balance out the “get me out of the sun for an hour” demand. It will never happen but have always wished they could find someone to do a value-engineered Disney Tower of Terror in Ireland. Maybe if BEC still owned the place.

Verbolten is to @SLC Headache as DarKoaster is to me.

Shame on all coming up with reasons to complement this ride. This ride is Battlefield V. Definitely not great, but also not bad. Just pales in comparison to Battlefield 1. I shall always deplore its existence.
Well put. Another thing in common is that Verbolten and DarKoaster both increased the minimum rider height and intensity from their predecessors. Even if BGW 2025 turns out to be a complete miss, it will at the very least have a 42" minimum height.

Not sure whether my new rant should go here or in Holzfäller's thread, but I'm erring towards here.

They really shouldn't have done the straddle seating (which I suspect is the reason for the 48" minimum rider height). Because this has a 48" minimum rider height, they had to provide something with a 42" minimum rider height for the next addition since they needed something for families with kids bored with Grover and too short for InvadR.

I have a feeling that had this had the 42" minimum rider height, that we'd be getting Drachen RMC. But no, they had to go for a marketable gimmick.

I disagree with that notion @SLC Headache mostly because (1) they shouldn't base decisions solely on that, (2) the sense that Pantheon and DK were a package deal after Madrid fell through means you had to play in Intamin's playbox.

And mostly (3) - I really think we're all going to like HolzFaller at the end of the day. Do I wish DF's station was used for something else? Sure. But Invadr really taught me a lesson in underestimating a coaster based on things like this.

BGW could just have gone with standard seating to get a 42” minimum rider height.
Drayton Manors [new Intamin family launch] coaster [Gold Rush] is cool
I looked that one up and it has a 1m, so roughly 40”, minimum rider height.

I saw a new Darkoaster nanocoaster in the giftshop on my last trip last week of august, didnt get any pics but they have them on the website

I would have preferred to see something named "Escape from Darkastle" or something.

I agree that all the anger about the name is just silly.

There’s already a ride in the park named Escape from Pompeii so I think that name would be a bit redundant. Just like GeisterWolf, it’s too much obvious repetition.

Who cares..... It's just a name. The average person doesn't. The experience and theming is what people are going to care about.
