The ride itself still feels incomplete. Even actual audio in the old preshow room
There actually is audio in the old preshow room! It is very faint and doesn't seem to play often, but it is some people (presumably the tour guides) talking about how bad the storm is getting and how there is a lot of paranormal activity in the area.

So is there any chance the park actually adds theming to the ride anytime soon? The ride itself still feels incomplete. Even actual audio in the old preshow room and a few lines of dialogue during the ride itself would go a really long way in improving the experience.

This is part of the reason we need the Nessie renovation to show some returns. It could actually result in funding for Verbolten/Pantheon/DarKoaster theming.

Great insight. If it's all about money, then doing something like this could generate some revenue even if the people on this site see it from another perspective. If only becoming the world's second best amusement park again was on their bucket list too.

It would be great if they could turn up that audio so people could actually hear it. I'd add it to the room with the ski equipment as background noise and give the old preshow room a preshow similar to Cobra where it plays on loop every few minutes. Right now, having Ludwig come out of the painting with no audio is awkward. It would set the tone better than what they currently have.

Assuming the park doesn't have the rights to use the old dialogue, all they need to do is record different generic "no escape, come back" audio during the ride. They got a creepy voice actor to record the station spiels so why not get the same actor to record some generic spooky phrases to say during the ride?

Are we even sure they don’t have those rights? They’re still selling tee shirts with the old DarKastle logo, and there’s a plaque in the queue with the old DarKastle pre-show narration written out almost word-for-word.

I really would like them to invest in a 3rd train to have 2 on the track year round. I did wait yesterday for my 3rd lap on this ride ever, the time posted was 45 minutes and I got in line and it took 75 minutes to when I was walking down the exit ramp. I then had 17 minutes to park close so I walked over to Verbolten and rode it 3 times in a row. I entered the line in the back end of the first indoor switchback. I'm liking the ride more than I did initially the more I ride. Most of the theming since it opened last year still seems to work and the pacing of the launches and transitions keeps it very enjoyable.

One of my friends went to the park today… the member signed banners are finally up in the ride… although they’re in the exit, not in the queue like originally promised. (Photo credit goes to my friend)

I finally got around to riding Darkastle today (twelve times). I went in with very low expectations, and my opinion is the ride experience is a solid okay. If this ride was built at a smaller park, e.g. San Antonio or smaller, I would say this is a good ride. (Wave Breaker is the superior ride.) If a Legoland installed a ride like this, I would call it an excellant ride. Now I still consider this ride an outright failure due to its awful throughput, and I'll probably only ride it when there is little to no wait.
Does anyone know what is missing in the exit hallway?View attachment 31870 1000004667.jpg

is it wrong to say like, they missed a opportunity of not putting this in the old drahen fire lot & build a new dark ride (a normal one) in the building, I mean, I rather have a dark ride themed to Germany castle history instead of a coaster

The problem with that would have been any dark ride they built would have paled in comparison to the one that was there. Without the AB budget, it would be a shadow of the former Dark Kastle. Dark Kastle was an amazing ride to add to a seasonal park, but the cost to build and maintain was also beyond the scope of what a seasonal theme park can handle.

IF they ever build a dark ride (which I see as being a big risk) I could see a Sesame dark ride built on the Sesame side of the park. Even then, unless the company keeps up maintenance on it, it's really not worth adding one.

but, do they have room for a sesame street dark ride for the sesame street area?
