Only reason it's being utilized now is because of the broken pre-show door. From 2006-2011, handicap and Quick Queue guests went through the door and it was permanently open.

When did it break? Which door are you talking about? Whenever I ride DarKastle, everything seems to be working fine.

The door separating the pre-show room from the loading area has been stuck in the open position for months now, making the pre-show pointless once again. What's worse, they left the room like the pre-show is running like normal (doors close during the show, cycling people through) so the line just wraps around the wall.

If they're not going to get the real pre-show going again (which I hope they do), they should at least put the switchbacks in so that whole room isn't a cluttered mess of crowds.

Just an observation...I noticed in the load area there is a huge conduit on the right side that looks like it was installed long after the ride opened... and they didn't do anything to try to conceal it like maybe some dark paint, etc. Really seems like a lack of quality there... and of course there is still no heat when he says "heat things up".

When the icy paint on the outside of the castle is restored, the pre-show/loading door is fixed, and the spinning returns, I will be happy.

They could tone down the "turbulence" on EitA, but then again that requires long hours of programming that they probably feel is unnecessary.

Europe in the Air is fairly easily programmable compared to DarKastle. DarKastle's programing was originally loaded up over wi-fi servers. Cecil Magpuri,(the main creative director of the ride) said it was further complicated, because the operating system was already quite outdated when the ride opened. Also, it varies slightly by car.
The last two times that I rode the ride, it seemed slightly different. I rode it once each over the past two weekends. Ten sleighs were running. Can anybody confirm if anything changed other than the amount of cars on the track?

I still do not understand the issue with the spinning. Yes I realize it is a pain to clean but since there is no screen when the sleighs spin it is no more dizzying than Turkish Delight.

I suppose that makes sense, and I'm not disagreeing with you, Zimmy, but I still feel like there's no difference in spinning than the tea cups. In fact, Turkish Delight is much more dizzying. I am simply not sure where they draw the line, and for what reason.

It doesn't matter if it's not hard to clean or there isn't spinning near the screens. Really though, the screens can be part of the motion sickness. You're sitting still, but the screen is making the allusion that you're falling.

Also, people with motion sickness don't vomit when they suddenly feel it. It builds up and they can throw up at any time. Sometimes they can hold it in until the ride is over or maybe they can only hold it just a little bit, ect.

And when someone vomits, it's 1) forcing ride ops to clean it up which is nasty 2) delaying the operation of the ride and stacking sleighs in end scenes 3)lowering ride capacity.

I have vertigo and most of my family has inner ear problems which causes motion sickness. Many rides I can get away with riding but I never get near the teacups because I know there is no way that I will come off it feeling fine and dandy.

Now that they have gotten rid of the spinning section, Dark Kastle is one of the few rides that I can actually ride at the park without feeling a bit queasy so I really appreciate it!

Also, no one in my family throws up when they get motion sickness we just feel miserable. With my vertigo, I actually pass out if I get too dizzy which is almost worst.
