I don't believe anyone would create a false ad like that. There is no way to make money by directing customers to another business. Unless the person is hoping to generate money off of ad clicks. That said, the ad looks to be off, even BGW would be smart enough not to use a made up or another coaster from another park in their advertisements. They have tons of stock images of their own rides.

I wonder, if you were to click on the ad, where would it direct you to? The park's official website?

Well if BGW falls under the phase 3 group that I think it might that limits to a capacity of 1,000 then I dont see a 2020 season before HOS.

Governor just announced Phase 3 guidelines.

Sounds like BGW would be capped at 1000 guests during phase 3 if they open.

I thought he said amusement parks separately and they were 50% capacity. If it's a 1000 person limit, I don't see the parks opening except possibly under some timed ticket system and probably limited parts of the park open on any given day. Six Flags America will see a lot of new business if the 1000 person capacity is in place.

Perhaps if BGW and KD hosts protests every day, they could reopen now and be exempt from any caps.

One positive would be that our passes would be good through most of 2021.

Not only Six Flags America, but Hersheypark and Carowinds. As for me, airborne at the moment and visiting BGT, SWO and Universal this weekend.

You really didn’t have to post that.
The problem with sarcasm is that it doesn't come through well online.

That 1000 person limit seems bonkers to me. Limits should be based on the number of sq feet per person. He's saying BG should have the same limit as a 2000 person normal capacity park?

Lawsuits may now be likely.
Good luck with lawsuits in VA. Governor's powers are pretty broad here compared to other states. Besides, Cedar Fair has more at stake on Ohio with 2 parks and probably saw a greater chance to win a suit given other suits in Ohio.

If a lawsuit is the only way to open at all this summer, they have nothing to lose. It wouldn't make sense it try a suit to open a couple of weeks earlier, but losing all of July and maybe Aug...

Also, they don't need to actually have a winning legal argument. A lawsuit could generate enough publicity to put pressure on the Gov to change course. (And, BG does have 2 parks, with WCUSA). Again, if this is their only chance to have any opening this summer, they may as well try.

But, this may be a moot point...... other posters said amusement parks have a simple 50% cap. Which is it?

My guess is lawyers for FUN and SEAS are asking Northam's staff for a clarification at this moment.

My understand was that it was either 50% or 1,000 which ever was the lower figure. Or in other words if you have a capacity of 1,500 then your limit is 750 if your capacity is 4,000 then 1,000 is your limit.

I can't imagine the big concert venues (e.g. Jiffy Lube Live) or places such as Richmond Raceway are too happy about the 1,000 person cap.

It's impossible to tell who the money behind the ad is because they did not identify themselves.
They may have used that only because the park website has opening and closing times for every day in July on their calendar. This could give a little credibility to the ad or that the park just hasn't updated the calendar on the website.

I have the same plans for next weekend through the 4th!

This could be a good time to BGW and KD to team up and file a lawsiut jointly.

I get the sense on here that some people don't like it when Northam's decisions are questioned. I for one think it's totally fair to discuss whether his policies could be better - what politician is actually 100% correct on every action they take?

Preach.

You really didn’t have to post that.

You could also learn to laugh at a funny joke and not default to being offended.
