It looks like the Curse of DarKastle building will house a new Christmas Town attraction this year. A JCC permit has been filed for "2017 SANTA EXPERIENCE IN 'DARK CASTLE' BUILDING IN GERMANY."

Dark ride would be GREAT for CT. And, assuming Eire is open for CT 2018, two indoor CT rides would be fantastic additions.

Would these two combined get a significant number of guests off the paths? Not sure if capacity/line length would make a difference on this front.

However, didn't they try running DarKastle when CT first started, but they had problems with the cold and/or getting the needed maintenance finished for spring opening?

Also of note, the map is "missing" from the CT website. Perhaps waiting for this attraction's announcement before posting the updated map?

Miracles is still listed as a CT show. Wonder why they wouldn't pull the page for that. They did update the rides page for Invadr.

Signs of christmastown being set up everywhere Friday :

Lights on several buildings in areas
Lights being strung on Pompeii and already in the water area
Christmas tree pieces everywhere on royal palace stage !
Yeah it's getting to be that time. I'm still impressed at the 2 major changes the park under goes with Howl-O-Scream and then Christmastown.

I hope they don't disfigure the existing Curse of DarKastle structure too much, even if temporarily. Then again, I would also hate for them to leave the exterior dark as if people wouldn't notice it.

The first thing that comes to my mind for re-decorating the outside is to make it a shimmering ice palace. Then again, I think an ice palace theme is too intriguing by itself to waste it on a Santa experience. I have been hoping for an ice palace walk-through with or without penguins, but this doesn't sound like it fits that description, sadly.

But... Rhinefeld is the North Pole. Does this mean a redecorated Rhinefeld?

That would certainly be a change if it tied into Rhinefeld's existing theme. The lighting plot for The North Pole has lots of cold, multi-colored LEDs. A historic German town like what Rhinefeld is themed to would typically have lots of evergreen garlands and warm, white lights.

It definitely would brighten up the area, but I fear that it would be too similar to the Mistletoe Marketplace area or even Ireland. I would love to hear orchestral choir music of German classic like Silent Night. Musically, this kind of theme has potential to be a perfect bridge to the more festive music played in Oktoberfest.

I could see them swapping Oktoberfest and Rhinefeld's themes. Multicolored would work really well in OF, and the mistletoe and white lights would suit Rhinefeld.

Wait....more than than one Santa could crush the dreams of many many 4 and 5 year olds. Does BG have the authority to crush the dreams of children?

Perhaps they'll use the quick queue entrance to keep the workshop inside the north pole? I imagine they can really play up signs through out North Pole "this way to Santa's workshop". The entrance also won't look like you're entering a creepy castle

I moved this post after PK's post since it's news and I don't want news to be overlooked at the bottom of a page. It was too late for me to edit a note into my previous post. Anyway.

Here is a video on what's new. It's nothing we didn't already know.

Gift of Harmony is the name of the new show in Italy. From the website: "Traditional and newer holiday favorites come to life at Busch Gardens ® Christmas Town ™ with the stunning and complex vocals in the all-new yuletide show, Gift of Harmony. Grab a hot cocoa and snuggle up with a friend or loved one to experience a breathtaking a cappella performance. The blended voices of this talented ensemble will have guests moving and grooving in their seats in Italy village."

Here is the description of the new Santa's Workshop.
"Under the glow of more than 8 million lights, boys and girls have been visiting Santa Claus at Busch Gardens ® Christmas Town ™ for years. That tradition will continue but in a bigger location. Santa’s new workshop is located in the castle made popular by the Curse of DarKastle ride. The larger home allows for more children to meet ol’ jolly St. Nick, take pictures and drop off their Christmas wish lists."

I'm sure they have us covered.

This is how the park is describing DarKastle's ride building now?! It is not a castle made popular by a ride. The castle IS the ride. And it isn't just a ride—it happens to be a state-of-the-art e-ticket darkride that is still light-years beyond the quality BGW deserves.

If there was any doubt about how little BGW cares about their once flagship-for-the-entire-chain darkride that revolutionized the way regional parks looked at the entire ride type, the quote above should clear up any uncertainty.

Perhaps whomever wrote that simply doesn't have the extensive background knowledge about the ride that you do, Zachary?

Ok... Now I have a reason to go back and re-read this thread. I can't possibly imagine how they will make DarKastle look fun and happy as the new home of Santa Claus, when it's such a dark and spooky Castle. This will be interesting...

**EDIT** Just read the whole thread...
