I tried to go through the England gate about 4:30 and was turned away. I don't know about after that.

I'd Say it was about 5x more crowded the first Saturday this year than the first Saturday last year.

Went up this evening on a whim.  Entered the England gate, no problem.  Another friend with a platinum pass did, as well. Crowds were insane, so we left, went home, and watched 'Elf'.

Yep crazy crowded. We haven't been during the regular season when it was this busy. Surprisingly enough we could ride just about everything with a very reasonable wait time. We did not attempt Verbolten, Santa or Penguins. Barely squeezed into the final showing of Scrooge.

OMG that chili pretzel sounds amazing.  Also if I may ask, what comes with the Christmas Town platter at Trappers?

It was very good. I took a picture if I can figure out how to add it I will.

I'm still very confused as to what people do during Christmas Town. I saw all the shows, but was still left feeling very bored.

I always felt this way, which is why I stopped wasting my money by going. It's just not fun to everybody.

Strangely enough, I (the apparent BGW hater) didn't even get enough time do everything yesterday, and I was there the whole day! This was my first visit to Christmas Town in a few years, and I honestly cannot wait to go back.

As I was telling Matthew yesterday, I bitch about this place a lot, but it's hard to complain about such a beautiful, festive place dressed up in all those marvelous lights.

All this being positive about BGW feels so weird. Maybe I've had an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato... but I had a wonderful time at Christmas Town.

I managed to not ride a single thing yesterday, only see two shows, but still be occupied most of the night. I just love going around the park and looking at everything with friends, taking pictures, eating, drinking, shopping. I feel if you try to hard, you're going to be disappointed, trying to do everything you like in one night is ultimately going to end up disappointing you, Christmas Town is a place to relax and just go with the flow, take your time, and enjoy the small things. I understand Christmas just isn't a thing for some people, that's fine, and if you can't enjoy the small things about Christmas, you're not going to find the fun you're seeking at Christmas Town.

I think my issue is, I can see light displays everywhere for free already. I don't need "8 million lights" to impress me. Shows are fine in their own right but when that's the major attraction (see: its what quick queue is for besides bolt penguins and Santa) I just don't find it as fun. I don't need coasters or rides all the time but there are so few options to chose from in that category to begin with that I feel like these nothing to do.

Especially if the crowds are insane. With less things to do that is more people on the pathways looking at every single tree with lights on it moving an absolute snails pace. Not to mention the mass amount of strollers with people attached to them who get upset when they run you over because they're not payment ng attention.

I guess it depends on who is with you. With my daughter we are riding rides that is what she wants to do... We did not intend to be there all day, but it took longer to get where we were going due to people overload. We never even made it over to Ireland, spent most of the day in Germany and Italy.

As an aside last night after the Scrooge Show husband was smoking and a guy in the area, told us that 5 years ago Christmas Town was the best kept secret in town. This as we watched the masses exit.

The $12 ticket did its job for sure.

It's not a issue of who I'm keeping company with, as unless I'm with my brother and his... whatever she is at this point, I end up having a good time with those I'm with. (Last night being no exception. I had fun being with who I was with. Regardless of the fact that the park was offering me very little.)

That being said I don't need to spend the extra money to go to a theme park to hangout with the people I already enjoy being around. I go to the park to do something different. 8 million lights is not very different. Being run over by strollers is different, but definitely not wanted. (and yes the $12 tickets certainly aided in that.)

And with the exception of Scrooge and maybe Gloria (Can't confirm as I'm not Gloria's target audience. I struggled not to fall asleep.) The others were an absolute train wreck. Which doesn't make me want to go back and see them again.

As you all well know, I have less than 0 interest in the shows. I was there mostly to see the lights, spend quality time with my sister, and try some of the food. My basic thoughts,

I had high hopes for polar pathway. I am going to ignore the 800 pound gorilla in the room (the giant foam things and view area) I was very disapointed in the lights. They really need to be tidied up and they need to decide how they are going to twinkle. Because it is all over the place now and looks half assed.

6 Flags over BGW. OMG YES. This is the best thing BGW has ever done. It even has broken bulbs. Clearly this is the best thought out and exicuted area.

As always, Nessie's influnace and has made Scottland the most charming area.

France... Is there a reason the large tree is errupting? No seriously, did we really need that obvious a sexual image?

New France... Meh... Smells nice though

Germany... Felt very German
