I'm no expert and I'm not saying that anyone is right or wrong... But in MY experience, Alpengeist was open in 35 degree weather. I probably rode it 12 times in a row with my husband one very cold night in 2011. (We lost count.) We could have ridden it even more, but the park was closing. It's probably just as well, because I might have gotten permanent facial damage from the cold, but we didn't really care at the time we were having so much fun. That is one of my very favorite memories with my husband. Every year I hold out hope that maybe they'll open another coaster... And every year I cry a little on the inside when I see that it's only Verbarfin. :(

Alpengeist can't operate in under 40 degrees. Whether or not it goes up/down for temperature depends on the thermometer in the station so if the thermometer reads above 40 but its 35 outside, the ride still runs. Same goes for Verbolten or any other roller coaster in the park.

From what I've been told by a former operator, Loch Ness Monster is the only coaster that can run in any temperature, however, if the temp drops below a certain number, the ride has to keep running. If the train sits still for a certain period of time, the ride shuts down and everyone has to be evacuated off.

The park really does need another anchor attraction running for CT though - to balance out the crowds at least. Oktoberfest is awful during CT because of the crowds.

It completely destroys the atmosphere at Polar Pathway.

Not to mention the horrible bottlenecking it caused. Between the crowds around the plinko game, the line for Vesuvius Grill, the mob of people flowing up an down the narrow path, and the mass of people stopping to look at the lights, I thought I was going to get trampled over there at any second. Why they decided to out the game in an already overly congested area is beyond me.

Nicole and I theorized that the iceberg thing would block people's view further up, in result they would gather at the turn-around because that would be the only place they could get a completely un-obstructed view. Sure enough, it took us five minutes just to get past that turn-around crowd. Not to mention people trying to take pictures of people in front of the turn-around in the middle of a million people, restricting other people from walking through the picture zone. It was ridiculous.

I was run over by a scooter on Polar Pathway last year. I got run over up to my knees. In those types of crowds, especially when people are admiring the scenery, people become a danger to each other. I wasn't hurt badly at all (relative to what it could have been). But the first aid crew drove me to my car. After that incident, Polar Pathway makes me nervous when it gets crowded. I'm furious that the park made it even more of a potential hazard, all for the sake of Coca-Cola. I really hope they fix it. Like Nicole said, Holiday Hills would be perfect for it.

Holiday Hills is more Coca-Cola themed anyways, so I agree it could fit there. But seriously who didn't see Coca-Cola sponsoring Polar Pathway and the various signs added. It was bound to happen.

I don't usually like to beat a dead horse, but bgwpass.com just plain sucks. I've been trying to buy tickets for ChristmasTown for 2 days now. They need to have ticket sales on a separate website or something that can handle the traffic. They are losing money left and right! How has black Friday looked in years past? Packed or manageable?

I was able to get in quite quickly and add to my cart and get to my cart. I'm trying to understand where these issues occur? Is it a billing page or confirmation page?

I've never had issues, I guess I may just be lucky? It did load just a bit slower than usual a few days ago, but it really didn't take very long still.

All that info can be found here. I made one of these for a reason guys (and I included dates so its easier to read). :D

VERY helpful tool, netdvn. Thank you!

Also thanks for the England parking lot updates, everyone. I could see there was plenty of parking there but had to make a U-ey and enter through the main gate on opening day. We almost missed the Festhaus ceremony.
