One word for France => TINSEL. It is everywhere. From what I'm told, there are some interesting aspects. The large tree that now sits made out of silver tinsel where the Aquitaine Village Band used to play is wired up to be very similar to O Tannenbaum, a miniature light show goes off every so often. Als the theme of the area is the 12 Days of Christmas as mentioned previously. Silver tinsel people. Let the complaints begin.

Maybe they will play the 12 days of Christmas in the light show to go along with theme of the area.;)

Well, maybe they themed it after Scott..the only time his sparkles really fits IS Christmas Town, anyways... I am excited, as its my first CT ever. I have Sunday off, so I can go around the park and have fun. What should I be sure to check out and what should I avoid? From what i gathered the penguins is a waste of time.

Penguins are never a waste of time. But their display cases are way too small.

Polar Pathway, in my opinion, is beautiful.

If you wait longer than 20 minutes for penguins, it would be a waste unless it is closing time then your just extending your stay :p But really if the line is short go see them.

Saw them once, that was enough. The line always seems to go on forever. It's a novelty, and I guess if you've never seen a penguin before, have at it...

This may have already been answered, but I want to eliminate walking around more than I have to later today....

I have my CT pass printed out and I have my Plat pass I'm bringing as well.
Where do we take our print out CT pass? Straight to the gates?

I know this may have been already discussed, so sorry if this is a dup question...

Is it a paper voucher or the actual pass? If its a paper voucher it says on the paper where to redeem it for the actual pass.

Follow the directions on the paper for the Christmas Town Pass. Your Platinum Pass basically means nothing (unless you use it to enter through the employee entrance or for discounts).

CK Productions going dark until late tonight. Unless, of course, there is something...anything, that is just incredibly interesting or asinine and worth breaking silence about while at the park. If you see me struttin' around, don't be a stranger!!

Probably it is just me, but I never get enough of penguins. SW is of course the best and honestly BGT is better than BGW, but I would never skip the penguins. In fact, without them, I might not bother with CT at all.

I have booked my penguin tour. I am interested to see how it compares to the penguin experiences at SW.

My plat pass is an actual pass. My CT pass is a print out.

Does the paper print-out have a barcode and a Zone on it? If it is just the transaction receipt, you still need to print out your turnstile pass, or redeem it at a kiosk. If it is the barcoded turnstile pass, you can go directly to the entrance.

it's actually not tinsel...

I will say there are nice things too. It's just so much tinsel. It probably caught me off guard, I think we will all get a good look tomorrow :)

When I say tinsel I refer to shiny strips of plastic that are used in a repetitive pattern. I could care less about the technical term.

Tinsel and Garland are totally different and have nothing to do with each other.

Dictionarily speaking, Garland is a wreath of flowers and leaves, worn on the head or hung as a decoration and tinsel is a form of decoration consisting of thin strips of shiny metal foil.

I have never seen, nor would I buy, plastic tinsel. You can get away with plastic garland, as some of the stuff, if silk, can look pretty real.

I have modified my post to avoid conflict. I said what I meant.

Ummm... I just extended the alliteration (tinsel/tacky) for the humor. Not sure why you thought there was conflict, or why you needed to modify your post.

Sorry if I somehow offended.

Going back to one of my previous posts, according to Wikipedia, tinsel is actually synthetic now:

Modern tinsel is typically made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film coated with a metallic finish and sliced into thin strips.[5] Coated mylar film also has been used.[3] These plastic forms of tinsel do not hang as well as tinsel made from heavy metals such as silver and lead.[5]

BTW, I changed my post, because I really didn’t want to offend. Your post just made me think about it more.
