SW must have more than one set? flock?...just looked it up: Waddle of penguin ambassadors.

The first time I met penguins at SW Orlando, we were taking a multi-animal tour. Unlike the exclusively penguin behind the scenes encounter, SW used their penguin ambassadors for that tour. The keepers said they traveled a lot as well. But I thought they lived in Orlando, not San Antonio. Of course I could have been wrong.

Anyway, looking at that picture on the plane, I keep thinking about penguin poop. I'm not usually that scattelogical, but if you have seen their habitats, you understand my concern.

Yes habitats get crazy with poop.

Not sure if I read wrong or maybe I heard it, but I believe they are said to use the penguins from SW in SA and this is where I'm not sure but think it was said also from the Columbus Zoo maybe, since Jack Hannah is in big with that zoo and SW and BG for animal ambassadors and conservation. Not sure on that, but I believe I read that or heard that. Be a good question for The Tour guide if anyone is doing this weekend.

One thing I still don't get or understand is we can get penguins for CT to go along with the holiday, but why can't they have reindeer. If anyone knows fill me in please. I could see the draw that lots of people really don't see penguins up close, but it would be more magical and Christmasy to me if there was reindeer, especially for the little ones to see Santas Reindeer.

They have two sets of penguins, they borrow penguins from both Sea World in San Antonio (one breed of penguin) and then from the Columbus Zoo (another breed of penguin).

As far as reindeer go, Virginia has very strict laws about deer in general and I am sure the park has to jump through all sorts of hoops to actually have them. It's not impossible and actually might happen within the next five or so years. I know there was some information leaked about turning the old Eagle's Nest into a Caribou exhibit. I am sure that they would put reindeer in the exhibit as well, or at least switch them out during the holiday season. However, riding the train and seeing Caribou as you enter the Caribou Train Station during Christmas Town would remind me of The Polar Express.

Honestly TV ads and Billboards can be hundreds of thousands of dollars, they probably spent maybe $500 - $700 at most for the limo, custom in-house made signage, elf actor and everything.

We are considering a trip to CT on Black Friday. Crazy or a good plan? This will be our first time for CT.

I am also confused about the buffet at Oktoberfest. Is that the only food served there? Do you have to buy that in order to see the Deck the Halls show?

It's only the food. Deck the Halls is viewable (and should be viewed) regardless. Also, if you can avoid Black Friday, do- especially for a first trip. Assuming the weather isn't awful, crowds will be hellish.

Yeah, people come to the outlet malls for sales in the morning, then hit BGW for the evening... so there is a potential for awfulness.

I have green ones with white snowflakes from last year, but I can't remember if they came from Williamsburg or Tampa.

Can you use your mugs from last year?

Yes, they've never not allowed us to in the past.

I like the old design of the mug better, but that's just my opinion.
