RE: BGW Christmas Town 2013

Holiday overlays for Verbolten are a much more affordable option that has been on the table since the ride first opened. Sadly, the budget never comes together to make it happen.

There's a tree in front of Aquitaine. I'm excited - the hamlet never seemed overly Christmas-y to me, and of all of the hamlets it seems the most village-y. I've never really understood why each of the hamlet's don't have their own flagship tree and decorate it according to their specific themes.

Lot's of -y's in this. Don't judge.

If the map is to be believed, the giant snowman from Aquitaine is taking up residence in Italy across from the Battering Ram near the Tree of Light. ;)

^And it has a green hat on - so it'll probably look more like Frosty than whatever frozen beast they had before. Really, it ties in well with HoHills what with the old claymation/puppet classics.

Hi! I'm newer to posting on the forums, but always a lurker.
My question: I have a 2 year old, and we have made it a Christmas tradition to see "bgw Santa" instead of at the malls! The past two years it was easy to entertain him w food, or snuggles, but this year, he isn't going to want to wait in line for upwards of 45 minutes just to sit on an old guys lap. And I feel SO guilty holding a spot in line while hubbs takes him to wander till I'm closer.

Is seeing Santa included in Quick Que? Or do you guys know if there is any other tips or tricks to see Santa?

Thanks guys!

If you can, visit on Fridays or Sundays. The park is pretty much a ghost town on both days early in the season. If you insist on visiting on Saturday, first two hours and last two hours of the day are good for minimal lines. Crowds hit their peak in the middle of the event. As it gets closer to Christmas, the park gets busier and busier.

No point in buying Quick Queue if you plan well.

Is "North Pole Outpost" by Alpengeist new? It looks like it refers to the shop, but it's not listed on the website and I don't remember that name at all. Any info?

Considering the park was willing to use dollar tree decorations for HoS, this shouldn't cost them that much to do with Verbolten. Some wreathes with glow paint and a Santa Clause finale, should be simple.

Yup- it wasn't on last year's map. Good eye. I imagine it's nothing more than a renaming but I guess we shall see.

Well each area has their own themed trees, for example, Aquitaine had pastel like pink, blue, and white lights on white trees. But I can see how a flagship tree for each area would look really nice.

As far as North Pole Outpost, I can only imagine its just the shop in that location with the fountain and plaza area.

A few other things i noticed:

- Union Jax is not listed
Will it not be open during CT, much like London Britches?

- Vino di Natale
Is this the official name of the gelato shop?

RE: BGW Christmas Town 2013

The park sent this out today. They've never sent it out in previous seasons so that is probably why it is on the map this year.

I know this article is kind of dated, but this guy is still working as Santa! He definitely is the best Santa I have ever met. I believe he mostly does the Fireside Feast.

I've never done CT - partially because I'm from San Diego and I hate the cold; partially because I'm an atheist.

Is it worth it? I've heard mixed reviews from friends and colleagues.

All people are allowed to have fun. For thirty bucks what do you have to lose? I hear the company is good ;)

Agnostic here, if you're not a fan of Christmas, you will have a harder time having fun than most folks.
