RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

I have my money placed on Verbolten. It is their newest ride, it is their anchor attraction for the year. They were betting on raising attendance figures with it. Verbolten is definitely a strong possibility. Griffon was pushed to the max last time they had it opened. Part of the reason it had closed for the end of the year last time it was open was a crucial part to the ride froze and broke and wasn't fixed until January. I doubt they will want to reopen it in the winter anytime soon again. Apollo won't be open, IMO, mostly because the area's theme has shifted from festive Italy to Retro Christmas and having that coaster open wouldn't match the theme. I am almost positive LNM can't operate in such cold weather. Alpengeist and Verbolten are the only two I can see open.

Also, I think Retro LAne is referring to the whole area of Festa, as the theme is no longer festive Italy, so a rename of the area would be appropriate in this situation.

DarKastle should obviously be closed. It is one of the most complex rides they have to work on. I don't think they would have time to do proper maintenance if it were opened.

DarKastle was open every weekend during CT's first year without issue. And if I recall correctly, it was open for a time the 2nd year, but then broke down or something like that. Last year it was closed for maintenance.

Also, where are you getting this "changed theme" idea from? San Marco is still getting the same "Buon Natale" theme that it's had. It's only Festa Italia that is getting a different theme.

Read the bold. I said festive Italy as in referring to Festa Italia. That is the theme for Festa.

DarKastle needs a lot of work done and when it was open during those times at CT I am sure it had some good amount of downtime the year after. It's almost as temperamental as a roller coaster, without temperature limits.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

I was messing around and it appears that the ChristmasTown Dash 8K will be returning, the site has been updated for 2012. The course map is the same from 2011, so are you guys ready to run?

The actual Christmas Town site looks more alive? Still no map, no coasters listed, and no DarKastle listed. However their description of Retro Lane:
Have yourself a very retro Yuletide as the sights, sounds and nostalgic good cheer of a vintage Americana Christmas come to life in a brand-new land. Retro Lane takes you down the road through one million dazzling lights, rides, and festive family dining. Celebrate a time gone by when holiday traditions were bold, flashy and warm as apple pie.

or AKA Festa Italia is Retro Lane

New Christmastown ornaments are available in the clock shop in Germany. They still don't have any dates on them and based upon my discussions with the cast member, they won't be adding dates.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

If they're opening up Festa Italia I think it would make sense that they choose Apollos. I'd much rather they take the time to give Verbolten some love in the off season

I hate that they don't put years on their merchandise. I would buy more stuff if they did.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

Verbolten is the best choice... it's new, it's relatively popular, and it does not have the 40 degree temperature requirement

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

Just a little addy about the site "being updated for 2012."

They haven't *completely* updated it yet. They still have to add the buffet in Festa to the list of eateries, as well as the rides there to the rides list.

And this is just a quirk of mine, but I wish they would put some concept art or something up to give us an idea of what the decor for Retro Lane will look like.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

For the ACE event on December 1st, ERT is scheduled for Verbolten from 2-3pm.
