A video was posted by the park on their Facebook page. It looks like it was a video they may have found floating on the web and shared it. It focused on one of the performers in Celtic Fyre exclusively. It would be smashing to see more videos like it come directly from the park.

I thought so too. Now they just need to remove the strange equalizer setting that they added last year (the echoey filter with the panning that's meant to trick the audience). The equalizer remains on until she comes downstage close enough for the audience to pick up on any trickery.

The thing is that she doesn't need it, because she has "the voice" to sing "The Voice".

Not to be too nit picky but that is not EQ that is reverb and or delay. (two very different, but equally important parts of the sound reinforcement/ mixdown tool box)

I know. EQ is just my go to word for strange things done with sound. ;)
Either way, the show would do very well without it, but it would be an insult to anyone if they decided to use it again just for them. Seriously, they add a setting where on top of the reverb /and/ delay, this sound bounces across the left and right sides of the theater.

Thanks for the technical words though. I was leafing through my vocabulary.

More often than not some form of reverb is in use on most vocals. Usually, unless you are looking for it, you would not notice. However if it is obvious, the level is too high. (or delay, decay, or some other setting is wrong) It lends a certain depth to the sound which makes up for certain acoustic inadequacies of performance spaces.

So, Tyler is officially back? Is anyone else from the tour back as well? It will be nice to see some of the old faces :)

During the beginning of the last show Saturday night one of the male dancers fell to his side grasping his ankle in excruciating pain. He then limped off stage. I admired the cast's professionalism and ability to change the choreography so quickly to adjust being a man down. I talked with one of the dancers after the show and he was rushed to the hospital. I spoke to Tyler yesterday and he said the doctor said he'll be ok and should be back in the rotation in a week or so. I was so relived to hear nothing was broken.

Glad to hear followup on this. We saw that happen too, I thought it was a charlie horse. Glad the dancer will be back working soon. I thought the show was amended very quickly and smoothly, and not something a casual observer would notice.

His dance partner also danced off the stage, and everyone else started dancing in their own "squares" until they could pick up with the next song. During "The Voice" some cast members seemed to be talking about the incident rather than their normal bar-side banter, but after that scene they were able to regroup as if nothing happened.

I really felt kind of awkward watching the rest of the show because I was concerned. Then again, I applaud the cast on being able to play it off, as the show must go on.

^As for the casual observer, this is true. One person with me thought it was a new addition to the dance number for the first few seconds.

We had a blast-from-the-past-good-old-days experience this weekend. A familiar face was playing violin in one showing. I had to rub my eyes a couple of times. She was a staple in San Marco (like Oktoberfest's Bob Bauman) and performed, I'm guessing, 13 or more years around the park. I seem to recall a dueling violin commercial she was in when Killarney opened. Love to locate a copy of that.

It made our day. She looked and sounded great! An awesome top class violinist and a special treat to see her perform again. I don't know if this was a one time thing or something we'll have the pleasure of seeing more often.

American Jukebox mumblings in the air over at the Globe. Then this happening? Are we seeing some sort of revival? The possible return of the old guard to BGW? Do we dare hope?

God I hated American Jukebox. *HATED* it. It has no place in a European-themed park. But then that's just me.

Glad the violinist is back! I love when the performers and other employees are dedicated to the park and return year after year. It shows they really enjoy their job.

Gary Lensenmayer came back to do the music for "All For One", and a good amount of others have also returned as you reported so the return of the old guard is starting to become more and more likely. This is a change I can totally get behind. :)

I actually think the show was a well performed show that you can see if you spare some time, but I do agree that it was out of place. At least with "Britmania" it does fit the England theme perfectly well unlike "American Jukebox".

Tell them to change the line or the delivery of the line "Alright, alright. It's time for my song!" I don't care which performer it is. I cringe every time I hear that line. I think it's too late to ask them to tone down on the stereotypical drunken men at this point. They did however somehow make Finnegan's Wake a bit less overkill by shortening the pauses and toning it down a bit.
