Celtic Fyre was great as always. A few very minor changes. There were very few cast members back from last year. As was mentioned by someone else, the two female tap dancers are gone. It's now back to a girl and a guy combo. I thought both were very talented. There's no longer an accordion player, but there's a bodhran player instead. Songs were all the same and there were a few choreography changes. Overall, it was good ol Celtic Fyre that we all know and love.

Some of the cast members we all know from past years that was on the road with RRTD will be back in April or so, I was able to talk to a few of them after there show in Richmond, now talk about a great show if ya ever get the chance to see it in the future DO IT!

This is such an excellent show. Definitely not a lot of returning cast members opening weekend, but its good to hear some more will be back. I was glad to see the tallish blond dancer back this year. She has such great form and movement. Last year, her and the tallest guy paired in the bride/groom part were simply outstanding.

The tap dancers are different. The girls from last year were excellent, especially the taller one that wore the red dress, with all of her great facial expressions.

The tap dancers are great this year, especially the guy. He has some great aerial movements. However, their choreography is not as well thought out to the strong points of the music as last year. It seems like they recognize the strong points of the music with slight movements instead of strong movements like last year.

One thing I wish they would do to this show is get rid of "Finnegans Wake and No Nay Never" and replace them with songs that actually allow the vocalists to showcase their talents. Those two songs are too corny any the vocals are always more comical for these songs.

I love Finnegan's Wake and No Nay Never.

I do wonder what will replace this show when the time comes. It's such a great show. I loved the one before it with the ruins (I still think that was the most beautiful stage set EVER - I want my living room decorated like that) but this show has been so consistently well-loved it makes me wonder what the park will do to top it afterwards.

FYI, the song is "The Wild Rover" and not "No Nay Never". The Wild Rover and Finnegans Wake are very popular pub songs and thus properly included in an Irish Pub themed show.

The last time I was in an Irish pub there was lots of singing and instruments, but no Irish tap dancing. I wished one could stroll into a pub and see the fantastic tap dancers in Celtic Fyre instead of the jigs and reels danced in real life. Tho, I enjoy those too.

I just don't think those songs showcase the vocalists voices well.  You can tell their is usually great talent there, but you don't get to hear their premium vocal.

This is definitely one of the best theme park shows anywhere.

Apparently there were originally several alternative concepts made for the set design of Celtic Fyre. The late Wally Coburg was the set designer for CF and several other shows in that theater in particular. I wonder what those other concepts looked like.

Did it always have the theme of a bar at an Inn, or was that just one of many ideas? If so, what could the show have looked like if they choose one of the other concepts?

I would love to see a few concept drawings even of the current/final design.

There may not have been much. When I was still designing often I would be asked to deliver several concept elevations with some vague detail. More often than not the director would give be 3 or 4 different directions he wanted to take plus requirements. The one that fit his "vision" best won.

Only twice was I asked to flush out further more than one concept and in those cases it had more to do with specific technical concerns. (rain stages, one that moved downstage for the scene and one that was the whole stage.)

Watched it for the first time this year a couple days ago, it was fantastic! It was a lot better than it was last year, not to say it wasn't fantastic then too! All the singers and dancers were superb, and it felt like I was watching a mini broadway show. This is my favorite show in he park, I hope it's around for years to come!

According to Zachary's interview with Jennifer of Entertainment, there aren't any plans to end the show anytime soon, so I assume the park wants Celtic Fyre to have a good long run.

Years ago the park planned on retiring the show, but I don't know if they already had a replacement planned. Later it was decided that it wasn't a good idea to get rid of the park's most popular show when they hadn't been able to surpass it yet.

The cast was on point today. The show is very good as expected. Their performance is tight. The young woman who sang "The Voice" (today, 4-21-2017) has such a pure and beautiful voice almost to point of being haunting. I spoke with Tyler, and commended him the Rockin' Road success and thanked him and the cast for continuing the culture of Irish music and step dancing. He is really friendly and easy to talk with.
