I saw the show yesterday and it had a swing for Frankie, a swing for the tapdancing girl (with no tapdancing male, so the battle was just between the 2 irish dancers and one girl dancer) and down a guy dancer, also saw a different violinist than I've been seeing earlier this season. I also saw a lot of new faces in the dancers...anyone know what's going on? I'd like to note though that if I didn't go all the time this wouldn't be very noticeable, the girl tap dancer was LIVING! She was phenomenal.

The main girl who has sang The Voice this year has an absolutely pure vocal. On June 27 in the first show, there was another girl playing that part that I haven't seen before and her vocals were absolutely pure as well.

And let's not forget the girl playing Frankie this year saying that part last year and did an excellent job. This just speaks volumes for the level of talent that Busch Gardens is able to get

They had a male performer playing the role of Frankie in the show today.  Interestingly, they just called him Frank instead.  It threw me off at first when he was off-screen and the InnKeeper said "Frank, Frank!  The guests have arrived" and then saw a male cast member coming out.  They had to change a couple of stuff as a result.  He still did Frankie's part in Finnegan's Wake though.

In the part where Tim Finnegan sings "Mrs. Finnegan called for lunch," he didn't change the lyric to "Mister" and the actor filling in for Frankie paused, shrugged and yelled lunch in a high-pitched feminine voice.  Pretty funny.

Not big news, but I just thought it was kind of funny and figured I'd share with the forum.

I'm really amazed at how many shows some of them can do. I bet some of them need breaks here and there.

As much as I love this show, the theater staff are way too fanatical about recording during the show. So much so that a staff member approached me during the show saying "sorry, there's no recording allowed". I wasn't recording....I had my phone out, but the screen wasn't even on. I guess the way I had it positioned triggered him? It was in my hands, but sitting horizontally on its side on my lap as I was tapping it on my leg to the music. I guess he thought I was discreetly trying to record? I really don't know, but to be approached about doing something I wasn't even doing, causing everyone around to look at me like I was breaking the rules when I wasn't kind of ruined the experience for me for that particularly showing. I was disappointed.

I'm not sure whether to be upset with the staff member or just the rules in general of the theater. If they're so uptight about that kind of stuff to where they're coming up to people just under the assumption that they're recording, that's a problem in my opinion.

The whole "no recording devices" rule on some of their shows is starting to get rather silly that when I saw "OktoberZest" they removed that rule and thank goodness for that.

I agree. Like I get the part where they don't want people videotaping the entire show and then selling it or something, but recording little bits shouldn't be an issue. I work with a guy who used to be a theater host for Celtic Fyre and he told me when he worked there a few years ago, guests were allowed to record for a minute or two before they'd approach the guest and ask them to put it away. To me, that's reasonable as well as the rule against flash on cameras when taking photos. The whole absolutely no recording at all seems excessive in my opinion.

There's another word for it that escapes me now, but overt "back-lit recording" is the only kind of filming they should worry about because of its distracting nature. Otherwise, the content of the show is the only thing left to worry about. That shouldn't be something they need to worry about unless the show is terrible or they "forgot" to pay their copyright dues. Again...

Any word on this returning next year?

Jennifer Thomas said at the start of this season that for now they have no plans on replacing it. Of course things can change, but I think we are still stuck with the show at least until they can make an equally as popular show. That said, they may have finally done so. Given the seemingly positive reception of both Britmania and All for One, I think its days are be numbered.

I'm sure the park has some plans for what could replace it. They apparently wanted to replace it a long time ago but they weren't given the "go ahead". So whatever was to replace it was either scrapped or put on hold.

I don't expect them to remove it yet, since they haven't said anything to that effect. The whole park chain has recently been more open about announcing the removal of popular shows. Remember, Marketing slipped up by announcing the retirement of Fiends in 2015 while Entertainment allegedly changed their mind on the same week of the announcement. Due to cost and popularity of all shows performed there; I fear that the Abbey Stone Theatre is frozen in time indefinitely, for better or worse.

That said, I hope they permit filming for the last showing today, just in case.

I mean....would they really replace this one with how popular it is? Every time I go to see it the place gets quite full.

Again, I do admire "Celtic Fyre" very much but I would admit a new show would be great. If it's a show like "Irish Thunder" you can bet I'm going to see the very first performance of it. :)

The one thing I feel like we can admire about Celtic Fyre is that no single show feels the same. They make altercations all the time when it comes to the acting involved, though the songs and such stay the same.

I'd be completely willing to let Celtic Fyre go under one condition, that the same director who produced Celtic Fyre is also involved in its predecessor.

I enjoy watching how, more so with the dancers, they all tend to take turns doing different things and they all nail it.

I found it funny that at Friday's first show (first shows tend to have so much energy!) the one female "American" dancer broke her necklace and they kept on going without skipping a beat! Talk about professionalism.

This is exactly my feeling. The show manages to stay fresh throughout the season because they change little things occasionally. I also enjoy watching the actors in the background goofing around during segments. Whoever/whatever team is responsible for putting this show together knows what they're doing and I'd be confident that they'd be able to replicate the quality that they put together with Celtic Fyre. I'd be okay with them trying a new show and if it doesn't work out after a season or two, bring Celtic Fyre back. The problem I can foresee though is that Celtic Fyre has such a passionate fanbase that, no matter what they put in place of it, the Celtic Fyre following would immediately dislike the replacement simply because "it's not Celtic Fyre".  I think the park knows this and to them, wouldn't be worth the effort to produce a new show.

On a side note, just got out of the last show of the season. As always, it was a blast and the crowd was electric! I love being there to give these actors and actresses a good send-off. It's always sad to know that there's no more Celtic Fyre for 6-7 months, but hopefully someone was able to record the show and will upload it so I can watch it occasionally during the offseason! (They did allow video recording for the last show. A theater employee even came up to us before the show letting us know that we can record, just no flash).

So is there a really good youtube video of Celtic Fyre (any season) that has decent quality and sound that someone can recommend? Or maybe Irish Thunder before that? I loved the set of that show with the ruins and the rainbows in the lights.

And what if they did Celtic Fyre 2? A sequel with the same characters but with a new premise and new songs and dancing. Basically, Celtic Fyre the next night at the pub.

Celtic Fyre 2: Electric Boogaloo?

In all honesty that isn't a bad idea. Or just same idea but instead of a wedding reception a first date, or guys and gals out for a night and they have a meet-cute?

I'm of the mind set of it ain't broke....

I'd rather they used the resources they have to put a better show in the globe. Until that venue has a production at least close to Celtic Fyre, the latter should stay.

That said, I wouldn't necessarily be against switching out 1-2 numbers a year. After a few seasons they could bring back old favorites. Then every season change up which numbers they have, but always have about half the show be original numbers.

They would then have a refreshed show each year.

I just want them to do something else with the "story telling" segment. In my opinion, that has always been the weakest part of the show. The second runner up are the American dancers, that scene's finale is awesome, but the parts in between get old even with the ever changing improvisations.

Ever since they lost both guys that could do amazing tricks such as a double split, it hasn't been as exciting to me. I do like the female American dancers, but I haven't seen them do any cool tricks yet, like the ones I mentioned above.

This is still my favorite video of Celtic Fyre. Sadly I haven't seen any good quality videos of Irish Thunder in Williamsburg. However, there is a great HD recording of Tampa's production of Irish Thunder which is watered down a bit, with a smaller stage and no imagery.
