Darkastle the writing was on the wall. As soon as they announced it was closing for HOS and Christmas I knew it wasn't coming back and told everyone to get their last ride in.

And Entertainment at BGW plans ahead a little more than you give them credit for.

Was anyone at the 2 pm show Sunday. Got there at 155 and was told we couldn't go in there regular entrance and had to go around. We we got there we were told we had to wait until the pigeons we released. It still wasnt 2pm yet????

I never paid attention...does the guy doing the packages/keys routine start at 5 minutes before, or on the hour? Maybe he had already started?

Packages/Keys starts around 5 minutes before the hour, takes about 3 min, then he gives the two minutes warning. Actual singing usually starts on the hour or so.

They didn't release the pigeons at one of yesterdays shows. Wonder if they had an issue causing the ushers to make people wait.

And they still let people file in during the packages/keys routing. Usually the doors don't close until it's either full at capacity or when the actual show and singing starts.

Also, for whatever it's worth, they didn't release the pigeons in the first show I saw which was the first show of the season. I just figured it being the first show something wasn't properly prepared to have them released or whatever. Interesting that it's happened again. Saw it one other time this season other than the opening show and they did release the pigeons though.

Are dirty windows a thing in Ireland?

I notice the mirrors behind the bar are also filthy. Its one thing to have a flat finish to minimize glare, but those mirrors really need a quick cleaning.

There were some minor variations in the music this year. Mostly during the dance/instrumental sections. Nothing that would detract from the performance, but just enough to keep it fresh.

It's a bit better but they still seem to mumble at times (like the part before he says "did you think I was dead?")

Oh how I love this show. This is my first season visiting BGW, but grabbing a pint at Grogan's and taking it to watch Celtic Fyre is already a beloved BGW tradition for me. I went to the 6 PM show on Saturday--the house was packed and people were really engaged, cheering and clapping (and exclaiming with joyful surprise when they let the pigeons out). I don't think the show has worn out its welcome just yet. I saw people getting in line 90 minutes before showtime!

Celtic Fyre really is the best show in the park. It's a great fun show that really engages the audience and has a story but it's at least a semi believable one. The park has kind of failed to replicate this recipe ever since.

Do we know the last day of this season for CF?

I saw that Bier Fest starts really early, August 16. Historically, CF ends prior to Bier Fest. Which means that CF could end as early as August 11. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

Would be interested to know as well...I have never seen it, and pretty sure I need to rectify that situation...
