I like the description of England (I'm looking at YOU park management)!

I intended to spread some of this out so something new was up every week or so. But, I needed to get this off my desk. On with the double post...

Busch Gardens The Old Country 1991 rack and in-park brochures courtesy The DOD3. The rack brochure still shows many character actors (with a newer, young beefeater).

Wow, some of that is familiar, but this does open up some more things that I didn't really know like Feats Too Big, and many of the older shows.

Some electronic goodies from the park back in the day. A 2006 Park Brochure and the 2007 Operating Schedule.
Hope these are okay to republish here.

This is an Artisan Appearance insert from a 2007 in-park brochure. Featured is Holger Hehl. The back announces future artisans Antonio Aprea, Antonio Accietto and Ed Hansberry.

I find it bad that there's only a 3 word sentence that says anything about Europe. Entwined should not have a single picture in that brochure, Celtic Fyre should be in that slot or any other show for that matter. I'm not a huge fan of the "Born for.." slogan. And I had no idea you could be "Born to Rock," in old world Europe.!?

I liked the Colossal Curl ad, I think it's better than an animated picture. And it's no cheesier than any of the other ads in that brochure.

It looks pretty much like last year's brochure with a new cover, Colossal Curl, and London Rocks on the inside.

I'm curious to know where you guys got this. The new brochures usually dont come out until March.

I actually think the "Born for . . . " campaign was actually pretty interesting. I mean it could use some work but honestly, I think it is a good campaign. And actually something that never came to fruition that I am kind of upset about is the name tags. When they were switching to the new logo green name tags, instead of the place where you came from, it was going to say "Born for . . . " and the team members could choose an adjective out of 8 or so pre-approved words. So instead of seeing a name tag saying "Bobby - Virginia" you would see "Bobby - Born to ride" or the use of some other adjective. I thought it was a brilliant idea, until at the last moment they decided to strike the idea and just use states/countries.

As for Born to Rock in old world Europe, I thought we established the park is not one consistent time period. You have many different things from many different time periods all other the park. For example, old world Europe didn't have roller coasters :p But seriously, they didn't have cars like the ones Verbolten portrays. Deadline also fits into the category, mainly excused only because it is a special event. I'm also sure New France isn't really old world Europe either. Nor was Kinetix?

That is one of my biggest issues. Kinetix wasn't very French yet it is perfectly fine to have that in "old world Europe".

Since it kind of brake the topic, I'll further respond in the more appropriate thread if this discussion continues.

Okay, I said "I'm not a huge fan," I didn't say "that is the worst ad campaign ever."

As for the rest of that post, you're just playing a broken record, and getting off topic. Move on, it's an opinion, you're just asking for trouble.

Anyway back on topic.

I didn't say that you said it was the worst. I was giving my opinion on the campaign and how it differs from yours. Can I not do that?

Combined BGW and WCUSA rack booklet.

Alpengeist is new. The Royal Petting Zoo, Wild Maus, Drachen Fire and BBW are still there. Dumphrey has a kid's educational show in LOD. Bob and the Festhaus stage are there. Shows are "World of Birds" at Fethered Folles Theatre, "Funiculi, Funicula", Rockin' the Boat" is new in the Magic Lantern Theatre, "Haunts of the Olde Country" and "The Enchanted Laboratory of Nostramos the Magnificent". The rest are Water Country attractions which I won't go into on the BGW forum.

All for your pleasure with Old World charm.

I think it's interesting that they had midnight closings in 97. I don't remember them being open that late on Saturday nights during the summer, ever.

The 2002 Park Map and Guide.

Shows like The Boogie Band (LISTED!), Knights, Dragons and Such, Holiday in Roma, Starlight Orchestra, Pirates, and Jukebox 2002.

Countries named by CORRECT names. The defunct Muscikmacher. Passport Sales in New France (and the Next-Day discount!). Banbury's Pipe Shop, Heraldry, Dragon Togs, Coat of Arms and Her Majesty's Fancy. The Le Coq d'Or in Aquitaine for CK and pretty much every shop numbered 7-12.

There is no Jack Hanna. These areas are part of Killarny. Eagle Canyon, Greystone Tower, Lorikeet Glen and the "Wild Wings" show. The Killarney Sound Machine is actually listed as an attraction. Gone is Toys of the Leprechaun, Corkscrew Hill, Budweiser Beer School, Irish Thunder, Secrets of Castle O'Sullivan...wait. Is there still anything to actually do in Killarney or Ireland or whatever?

I like the Merchandise Directory. Nice to know where to go if you are looking for particular gifts. Look at that list of merchandise! I guess it would be an easy list now. Made in China or made in Pakistan. The two-way radios available for rent are a neat idea. There is an area for sponsors during that time.

Not from BGW per se. But, interesting.

From "The Circus Report" in September 1978.

"THE CASE of the Vanishing Juggler: The Dobritch Circus at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg (Va) appears on a stage, fronted by a moat. The Juggler was on and Ray Hartzell, who cuts the show listening to cues via a headset, was playing away when, by chance, he turned and noticed the juggler had vanished. "My God," he thought, "the act is finished already !" Thoroughly puzzled, Ray stopped playing, at which point he saw a hand come up out of the moat and grab the edge of the stage. It wasn't a new "vanishing" routine after all - the juggler had simply juggled his way off the stage and into the water!"
