Re: Concerts 2013

While better than any Christian or teeny bopper band they have, not worth the crowds IMO. Glad to see some variety though.

Who is Styx? Playing there songs don't remember any except Mr. Roboto and yes I was born in the early 80's. Sorry to say won't be at this concert :dodgy:

A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me a song of hope
This is what they said

According to a highly trusted source, Styx will be in this year's concert lineup.

This is the best news that's come out of the park/been leaked since Verbolten last year. :D I just hope I'll be able to make it in somehow this year without dealing with a 12 hour line.

RE: Concerts 2013

My point has been proven. I had to do some research on this band because I had no idea who they were and low and behold everyone assumes the concert will have a 12 hour line and it is going to be a crazy mess and everyone jumps for joy.
My point is that, you guys constantly complain that they had too many "teen" artists that you have never heard of or don't care for. Now look at the other end of the spectrum. You are in the same position those teen girls were in when they found out Victoria Justice was coming to the park.
The main difference is that Victoria Justice is a more well known name in this generation and therefore is more is less going to draw a larger crowd, even people who may not like her may attend her concert just to say they say someone that was popular in their generation.
Now I think the park will be just fine and the line for this concert will not be as bad. After all look at their previous 80's concerts and how long the lines were. The only complaints of lines was for Miranda Cosgrove and Victoria Justice. Never had I heard of any long line for an 80's band in the Royal Palace Theater.

All I am saying is stop being selfish and thinking that only your favorite artists are the absolute best and are perfect picks for concerts. Yes they are very talented and should be an exciting concert; but they are not the absolute best.

I hope to see a healthy mix of current generation artists as well as 80's.

Nobody's being selfish, their just showing their own opinion, and nothing is wrong with that.

RE: Concerts 2013

Yes selfish is wanting something that caters directly to you without care to something that may be different and cater to others.

There is sharing your opinion and then there is a more extreme of that which is being selfish. All I have ever seen on this thread is that 80's and oldies music is the absolute best must have for the park and that all other music is trash or not necessarily trash but terrible because they may not be familiar with a particular artist or enjoy a certain artists music. To me that is being selfish think that other music is terrible because you don't like it, or because you may not be familiar with the artist.

All I am saying is try to be more open minded and accepting of other music preferences, and if you really can not stand it then at least you tried to be open with it. I hate how people immediately jump for the we MUST have 80's music or we will forever complain about concerts attitude. Yes, 80's is good, it is one of my favorite types of music, but it isn't the best nor the most perfect.

RE: Concerts 2013

Nobody is saying that the park should only get music that caters to one musical style, people are saying that the park /should not/ cater to only one musical style (for the last two years, that style being teeny pop). People are happy because the park has got something that they're interested in. There's also a good chance that if they're popular enough to go at the park, that a majority of the people have had enough of the taste of the genre to form an opinion. If people would much rather hear 80s rock instead of teeny pop, they can hardly be selfish for that.

Confirmed.

Pointing out that their schedule doesn't list BGW as one of their concert locations, yet they confirmed it via that tweet.

Obviously that's the popular opinion on this forum. But NOBODY is saying the park should only cater to 80's music. I'd just prefer to see more 80's since their was a complete lack of it last year.
