Many if not all of the off duty officers working Busch which are pretty much the same as KD's park police had them on last night. Honestly my personal preference is that places like this use actual officers rather then hiring their own cops.
There are literally hundreds of park security here tonight at KD, park police and a large number of local police as well. Pretty impressive considering the State Fair is next door and i’m sure also requires a large presence. Park is packed, more so than i’ve seen in quite a few years on opening night yet the crowd is quite relaxed.

Thing is cameras will not deture the thugs of today. They simply dont care....pretty much any crime they comit in the parkj will go unpunished and in fact I think some do it just for the street cred or to look cool. Generally you never see a single person by themselves in the park picking fights, its usually when they are in a group and then they act like a pack of wolves all jumping in. Until the park really ups the security game and starts using facial reconigition to keep people out and trespass them and press charges when they come back on property nothing will change.
Honestly the latest group seemed like they were all willing participants so victimless crime I guess.

I'm not willing to assume KD is a security exemplar, until we see how their season goes. Historically, they have had major brawls that filled all of CAG.
But the reality is how they handle the incident. If they can detain the actors either at the time of the incident or at the park exit and they follow up with charges or bans or if they basically take the BGW approach of letting them go and then having the JCC police go to the media days later to act like they are trying to track down the subjects. I can tell youthis just from what I have seen at the parks the past two weekends is BGW security and the hired cops is they are roaming the park talking amongst themselves enjoying the night and easy overtime where as at KD they were mostly stationary watching and I even saw at times they would be following groups that were acting up.

And this is where i am afraid of BGW unless they do some course correction soon
Copycat actors will most liekly happen...and when theres blood in the water there will be a frenzy. Busch cant even staff parking trams but what they need right now is some of those elevated security towers in each lot with the ability to have effective teams of people to stop any actuvity quickly. Calling 911 and waiting for JCC police to get there to be the first line of defense isnt the answer.

This is a case in point about why you can’t run that large an operation at such a cheap price point. Not enough revenue for bolstering security and the bad incidents scare away all your high value customers. Much better to operate at higher price points and sacrifice volume, but drive repeat business and loyalty.

Thing is BGW is operating at a fairly high price point for what it charges for memberships. The past few months have been a prime example, we are still paying the high prices but things arent open, no Josephones, no parking trams....so on and so on. The biggent problem is the cheap tickets they sell and deals they keep running. Cut them out and let everyone pay the same to get in. It may hurt for a year or so because people will say they arent paying those high prices or they think they will hold out for a deal but once people realize they have to pay to play things will get better.

It depends if the troublemakers at BGW are buying daily tickets or getting fun cards and memberships. The issue at SFA is you can get a membership or season pass for $60-70/year, which is very little, so you have teens using the place as a cheap hang out similar to the mall.

Based on BGWs regular day ticket price ($50-80), fun cards should probably be in the $150-200 range and memberships at least $200-250 on the low end. Having deals such as $80 fun card kills the value proposition and brings in customers who aren’t going to place much value in the park nor spend much when in the park itself.

So everyone's talking about how Busch needs to raise prices to keep the riffraff out.

Meanwhile at Disney, who just jacked up AP prices and charges the most for gate price.

I don't think it's a pricing issue. People will act stupid and entitled wherever they go. Doesn't matter if they paid $10 a month for their annual pass or if their pass costs over $1k a year.
