OK. Another question for y'all. And I apologize if the answer is in here somewhere; I am at work and shouldn't read all seven pages to find out.

Do I have to reserve BB in advance and do I have to show up at 4:15 to check in?

I really don't want to make reservations, because I can't predict when we will get to the park, if we will have time, or if Phia will even want to go to BB. (Hate, hate, hate 95 and 64.)

Y'all have convinced me that this is cool for people who like audience participation, so I want to give Phia the option, but I don't want to commit.

Once again, thank you for all of the awesome advice today!

I would try to get reservations as you are guaranteed access early enough to get a seat and eat. 1st thing- get there at 4:15 for seating- grab a seat near the fountain immediate after pulling back the chord, and then once seat is secure- go back and grab food.

That is my advice. ;) I hope you have a great meal and enjoy the show Nic and RocketChk . One of these days- we have to hang out.

Blood Banquet...FUN!! Must do again. So worth extra dollar.
Food> very good. Entertainment> top notch. Cheese> excellent.

Shot out to our lovely gypsy violinist!! It was All that. BB is truly Vladtastical!! The best offering of HOS 2013.

EDIT:

Anyone interested in an audio recording of the show?

^
Yes. I think so. It was also a bit on the spicy side....and delicious!! I was still tasting it again and again throughout the evening. :p

I totally agree that if you miss out on Blood Banquet then you have not truly experienced HOS this season. I realize though that not everyone can make it. So in the spirit of Fright Feast, I have put together a wonderful audio recording to share with you guys and gals. It is not raw like the former, it has had a little editing work done to it for the sake of quality and removing some things before, after, and in-between stuff that pertains to the show.
I could listen to this over and over again. My daughter is still singing the song at the end. You may hear some familiar voices in this recording. It was a lot of fun. Hope you all enjoy it!!

Listen to Blood Banquet.

Get it while you can. It won't be available forever! Hope y'all appreciate this. There's MUCH more where this came from!!

Who wants to go with me again some time in the near future?

So, first off I want to say thanks to everyone here in advance for all the reviews and information that is within this forum. My partner and I are heading to BGW and KD from Ohio, and would have had no real game plan without this forum.

Now for the real reason behind my post... I've already purchased our Oct 5th advance reservation for Blood Banquet, but now realize that this looks to be an exclusively outdoor dinning experience. It begs the question "what if it's miserably cold and/or raining?" I didn't see any sort of weather information on the purchase.

That's actually a fantastic question. Rain seems like it could certainly ruin the entire thing. Mind calling the park and seeing what they tell you?

We were there in the rain last night. We saw people eating at the tables with umbrellas and the performers were still there. That said, the rain didn't get heavy until after BB closed. The rest of the scare actors in the Terror-tories went inside when the rain picked up, so I would bet that they wouldn't perform in really bad weather.

I know y'all don't mean it this way, but statements like these really bother me, and border on insulting. It seems to say that you can only truly experience HOS if you do it our way. If you don't like the park shows, you haven't had the *real* experience.

I stopped by Blood Banquet and the dialogue was every bit as cheesy as I had feared. I really don't enjoy that kind of humor (see my list of movies). And I certainly would not be comfortable being part of any show, especially one that required that I eat while people stared at me. But apparently I didn't have the correct experience, because I skipped that and road several roller coasters at night instead.

I understand that y'all really love this...show...food...thingy, but please no more universal generalizations?

Now that the company phone banks are open, I did give them a call today to inquire about inclement weather. The reservation specialist I spoke with explained that if they actually cancel the dine, a refund will be issued or they could actually reschedule the dining experience. Reservations can also be canceled for a full refund up to 24hrs in advance.

This is all actually what I was expected would be done, but it's strange not to actually see it in writing when making a purchase. Part of me secretly wishes there were an indoor seating arrangement for what might just be the park's sleeper Howl-o-Ween hit.

Just passing the info along; I found out that this event is strictly handled though culinary and thus they are responsible for deciding to cancel or refunding the ticket due to inclement weather. Interesting, I would have thought entertainment.
