Full lyrics for the song they all sing at the end of the show:

I am what I am
During the day, I'm forced to hunker
I fly through the night, it's a delight
I'm a bloodsucker

It's my world and I want to have a little pride in
My world and it's not a place I have to hide in
Life's not worth the glam
Till you can say, "Hey world! I am what I am"

EVERYONE!

I am what I am
I don't want praise, I don't want pity
I bang my own drum
Some think it's noise, I think it's pretty

And so what if I love each sparkle and each spangle
Why not try to see things from a different angle
Your life is a sham
Till you can shout out loud, "I am what I am!"

I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
No Darling, no excuses
I deal my own deck
Sometimes the ace, sometimes the deuces

There's one life and there's no deposit, no returning
One life so it's time to open up your coffin
Life's not worth the glam
Till you can shout, "Hey world! I am what I am!"

I think we just found Scott's theme song...

Seriously though, the thing is super catchy.

This is (mostly) a song from La Cage aux Folles, a musical about a gay club owner and his drag queen partner, that at one point starred John Barrowman (Capt. Jack Harkness). It was the basis for the movie, The Bird Cage and Barrowman played Nathan Lane's part, Zaza/Albin, who sings this song in the musical.

But is that for regular people too? Not just passholder?

EDIT: Yes, I just checked. Its for all! So we have a show schedule then?

I think shows start on the 30s. We had 6ish reservations and the bell hop told me the show would start at 6:30. I also asked Luigi during the day if we could come at any time and he said they would like for people to keep to the reserved time, but that we could come early.

After reading all the great reviews here, I had high expectations of this dining experience. It disappointed. The pasta was dry. The beef was overcooked. The red velvet cake was dry. The turkey and the cheesecake were outstanding, but those are the exceptions. Unfortunately our seats were at the outer edge near Aplengiest, which made it near impossible to hear the show. We did have some interaction with the characters before the show started, but once it began, it was futile to hear over the roller coaster. Also, the seat cushions seemed to have absorbed water from the rains and we ended up with wet pants. I really hate being wet, especially in my seat. Personally, we should have skipped the dining portion, thereby saving $38 and just stood outside the rail and watched the show.

I'm sorry, if you sit closer it really is a neat experience. I am sure there will be a few bumps for some experiences, after all nothing is always completely the same. If it comes back next year, or you have time this next weekend, I suggest giving it one more chance before ruling it out completely.

I will say that the food today was a bit of a disappointment. I didn't have anything that was by any means bad, but a few of the things I tried (namely the pasta and the chili) were a bit lackluster. That said, Blood Banquet is performing so, so well now. The show continues to evolve week after week and I really was thoroughly impressed with it today. You can tell the cast enjoys the show and, even better yet, they're really given the freedom to do what they want with it.

Here's a tip. Instead of getting your kids one of those glow swords, feed them some of the chilli. It will last longer.
The food was so-so. Nothing to write home about. Every empty table was not cleaned in between shows and my wife had to ask them a couple times before someone made the rounds. I heard another lady complaining inside about the same problem. The bar ran out of Coke so I had to go over to the Funnel cake stand for a refill. I can understand this problem though. If all you ever drink is blood, then it would be quite easy to overlook your lack of Coke product.
The serving staff were all very courteous and helpful other than the tables. The performance was great and I think the best touch of all was that most of the cast were available for meet and greets early in the day so that I could get some pics of my children before taking them from the park before HOS began.

Hurray! I'm in that video!

Anyway, I got to try Blood Banquet for the first time yesterday. The theming was great, extremely well-done. The food was really good, although I did not like the pork skewers. I probably had enough cherry cobbler for dessert to last me the next few days...it was very good! The show was really fun, the actors all seemed to be having fun, and the cheesiness was so through-the-roof that I loved it. All of the characters were awesome--the gypsy violinist and the daughter both stood out to be having a really good time and were doing a fantastic job. And Count Vlad was... well, Vladtastic. Great fun. I'm really glad I did the banquet.

Also, I love how Count Vlad refers to himself as the "true most entertaining vampire in all of Germany," as a little nudge to Ulrich there! :p

Actually the Night Beats references were a result of a few things happening around Blood Banquet last night. The malleability of the show truly is one of its greatest strengths.

Care to explain?

Well, Nora bragged to Count Vlad about her experience at Night Beats with Ulrich and Vlad told her "Don't worry, we can top that." Immediately following that is when he made the "most entertaining vampire in all of Germany" reference. Also, Lugosi made the announcement asking the "dead beats hanging on the fence" to return to "the house" after a few of the Night Beats cast members had walked up to the Vampire Point Hotel. If you listen closely, I believe there are a few others as well. Well played Blood Banquet cast, well played.

Oh! I forgot to mention my experience last Sunday with BB. It was rainy, but I really wanted to go to BB for a 2nd time, so we went anyway. Well due to the rain there was a shortened version of the show where they edited out the Violinist(because you can't play your violin in the rain). Anyway the Bigger guy was the bell-hop in this version, and the bell-hop in the normal version was Count Vlad( with a shorter cape so it wouldn't drag on the ground)! Anyways even with half the show cut, it was still hilarious and enjoyable! There was a little less interaction during the show, and the finale was only sung and not danced, but none the less it still was a great show! I love BB so much, I feel like this is the best thing to happen to HOS since, well since Howl-O-Scream!

Thanks for the info- I was wondering what all they changed in the rain.

Also, for the record, Lugosi was playing The Count because the guy who normally fills that role was out of town two weekends ago- you sorta got the fraudulent Count Vladtastic. :p

Oh even Lugosi was a great Count Vlad! If I had to choose, to be very truthful, it would be very, very tough.:-/

By the way, for the record, Blood Banquet is insanely hard to film. I'm still not happy with this video, but considering I only have one trip left and I still have other filming to do, this is probably going to be the best I can get.

This!!
The video is good enough. It is difficult to get good pictures as well. The fountain & statue make the group shot impossible. Inside, the best you can hope for is close-ups of individuals or small groups.

I was present during this recording with my daughter; we were standing right next to Ulrich and company. We subtly engaged in a little banter with them. They told me this was the first chance they had to see Blood Banquet, and appeared to enjoy the show. I understand there is a little beef between Count Vlad and Ulrich. Can't wait to see who does what next!!

We saw the alternative version last weekend as well. It was definitely not as good with the regulars on a sunny day, but it was still entertaining. Great job folks!
Our lovely gypsy violinist is working on obtaining one of those fancy violins that can be played on humid days and harsher elements.

I plan on hitting this up one more time this weekend. Who's in?!?

I know I will be there sometime this weekend. Gotta get one more round of shows in. This time I am going to make sure to give Dig it Up some love as I need to see the cave girl's antics again before the park closes.

For some reason, Italy is always the last place I hit. i cannot eat anything in Italy- so it is kind of a walk-through for me except my visits to see Tony, Nino, and the great Merch team there.
