Blood Banquet, in the past, has been very free. You don't need a reservation, and I think this is the reason why they don't reserve tables. You can choose your own seat.

Because the set up looks different this year, I would say sit close to the stage to interact with the performers more, but then again I'm not sure what the characters will be doing this year.

Blood Banquet is in for tons of changes this year, we're pretty ill-informed. However, if it's like last year, you will be able to pick a seat, and I'd recommend sitting close to the new stage, since that seems to be the new area where most of the action will be occurring.

It wasn't really the right time either, a couple of Scott's minions were there watching.

Basically, I wasn't paying full attention, but he pointed at the guy and said "Hey, it's meals on wheels!" I have a hard time thinking he would ever do that, I hope it was pre-conceived with the guy, but it seemed like he didn't like it.

I sat through several performances Sunday and had a blast with some good friends.  Yes, the show is much changed from last year.  Yes, I miss performers like our lovely gypsy violinist and Chef Juliette, Lugosi, the twins, "Peggy Bundy"; everyone was missed!  I loved last year's cast and format.  That being said, I loved this year's cast just as much (two returned), and the show itself stayed true to the spirit of what I had come to expect from Blood Banquet.

The Count himself was just as charming and welcoming as he always was, and he owned the floor.  The supporting cast seemed to have great chemistry, and you might recognize a certain someone who used to be a bit of a princess in Das Festhaus not so long ago.  The jokes were plentiful,  there were many more musical numbers and the added stage over the fountain gave a much needed "boost" (See what I did there?) to the visibility of the performers during the show.  I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that the closing number was kept in the show.  I love that song!!

The buffet was pretty much the same as I remember from last year with some minor changes.  The Diablo Turkey I had been waiting for was still just as good as I remember it.  I also enjoyed the "stolen" Casket Club Chili.  My beloved red velvet cakes were nowhere to be seen, and though I didn't miss it, The Count mentioned that there was no lamb stew either. :(

Overall, Blood Banquet was just as much of an enjoyable experience as it was for me last season, and I would recommend it to any of my friends.  I myself will probably be partaking of the Banquet experience another two or three...maybe four...five more times(?) before the end of Howl-O-Scream.  It was VLADTASTIC!! :)

I saw about 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the show outside the fence. From what I saw, it was an okay show, just nothing's the same. I feel like last year's show had more character and heart. There was more singing, which I didn't find to be all that entertaining, although some of the characters did have nice voices, not a fan of the werewolf, he doesn't fit, it should still be exclusively Vampires. It just didn't seem to me, to be as entertaining as last year's version. I'm glad to hear the ending number is still there, I did love that song too. I'm going to miss that Red Velvet Cake though.

I liked it. Loved it? Not really. I just don't understand why it had to change in the first place...

Also, the tables and chairs have been replaced, they look very nice.

So I was able to experience Blood Banquet for the first time this season on Sunday Night, and thought I'd share my thoughts for people who are wondering whether or not they should pay the money to experience it themselves.

Food:

The food was more or less the same as past years, a couple of additions this year, however. For the entrees a lot of German fare, chili, a carving station, baked potatoes, the weirdest version of chicken parmesan that I've ever seen, and pasta. The carving station had two meats, pork loin and beef that I found particularly enjoyable, probably the best entree options, the chicken parm was made more "buffet-servable," so it's basically chicken tenders with sauce and cheese on top. It wasn't really bad, just presented in an undesirable way. The German food(or what I tasted of it) was all decent. I stayed away from the chili not because it was bad, but because I loathe chili, but it didn't look that revolting, so I think it should be okay.

The real highlight of the menu was the desserts. I didn't taste one that I didn't like. The selection was a "blood spatter cake" which is basically vanilla with what I believe is cherry filling sporadically in the cake. They returned one of my favorites from 2013 that they took away in 2014, the red velvet cupcake. In addition to this, they had the chocolate custard that they've had since Blood Banquet opened, and a cherry cobbler. The cherry cobbler, Blood spatter cake, and red velvet cupcakes are all must tries.

Out of the entire selection, I'm sure everyone will be able to find a couple items they enjoy in both the desserts and entrees.

Show:

To put it simply, this show is last year's Igor's Fright Feast, with vampires instead of nurses. Same music, except one song now has different lyrics, but same tune as in Fright Feast last year.

For those of you that didn't see Fright Feast last year, I'll give you a basic synopsis. Igor is running Vampire Point Hotel now, he'll explain to you how he got it from Count Vladtastic in the show. He has his three employee vampires, a maid, a bellhop and an athletic trainer(?). The athletic trainer was odd, but she was a great actor and sang "Let's get Physical" so I guess it fits well. Igor's best friend Swampy comes to visit, they crack some jokes, another musical number, more jokes and the finale "We are Family."

Because this is basically last year's Fright Feast, the show was amazing. Igor was, as usual, amazing, Swampy(I believe was the same guy as last year, when we talked to him post-show he seemed to know what he was talking about) was really good, and the three vampire employees were great actors, and really good at portraying their character.

My only complaint is that they use the damn fountain as the stage, it makes it hard to see/hear/tell what the performers are doing on the opposite side of you. Sitting closer to the stage will help this problem.

Final Thoughts/Summary:

Would I recommend this experience? Definitely! In fact, much more than I would have recommended it last year when Igor wasn't here. In my opinion, it's worth doing at least once.

I saw a rain-shortened version of the show on Saturday. I'll have to go back and see the whole show, but I agree with you about the food.

I don't believe swampy is the same guy though. I talked with the cast after the show and he said he was a local actor. I think the guy last year said was from New York. I think this year's sings better too.

I got to go back and see the full show this weekend. I honestly think it might be my favorite in the whole park. Igor is downright brilliant and Swampy complements him nicely with a different type of humor, and they both have great voices. And the girls are stellar too.
