A fresh coat of paint shouldn't take too long to do, but I guess it depends on the coaster.

That all depends on the last paint job, if its still secure and just faded then its a cosmetic fix. If there are places that are flaking and rusting then it needs to be removed and prepped right.

Which is good, because Apollo's Chariot looked faded than flaking/rusting so a fresh coat of paint is probably the best guess of what the park is doing to it right now.

Hopefully it's ready to go by preview day (No reason why not). They are still keeping the guide rails grey, right?

They’ve had the previous two repainting projects (2003 and 2007) finished by Preview Day BUT they’ve never gone over a decade between jobs. So here’s to at least hoping it’ll be done before the new season starts.

I would argue that the top of the lift hill is SUPER RUSTED. I don't ride Apollo often since most of the people I go to the park with like the back. (Sorry I get sick in the back) but riding towards the front you can see the top of the lift hill after the predrop and it's COVERED in rust and chipping paint.

So I'm really hoping they took the time to remove the paint there and repaint it, because wow that made it look wildly unsafe. I believe there were also a few other spots with rust. But that's where I really noticed it.

Interesting, I didn't notice that at all, you have a good eye. At least the park is finally giving the whole coaster a fresh coat of paint after all this time for the 20th birthday, instead of ignoring it like Alpengeist's 20th was.

To be fair, Alpengeist didn't need it that bad. Apollo looks AWFUL

Thats about what I expect with Apollo....some sections will be completely done then others will be patchwork.

Not saying they won’t, but don’t be disappointed if they don’t. 20 years isn’t nearly as noteworthy an anniversary as 40 in my opinion.
