RE: 2012 Coaster

regarding the themeing. If the drawings are close to true. this is going to be way more themed than griffon.

Griffon is themed at all?

Of course, Scout, didn't you know that the Aquitaine countryside is mostly flat concrete with an occasional gift shop and shallow pool?

RE: 2012 Coaster

Now wait just a second- I think you're all forgetting about the rustic-looking boxes up in the ceiling! At least they... O, forget it, it's not worth it.

RE: 2012 Coaster

I like the view from Mach Tower, you can see everything they are doing with the new ride :D

RE: 2012 Coaster

One time I got in an argument on a fan forum about exactly how "well-themed" Griffon is.

I bet if I didnt bring up Kings Dominion I'd wouldnt have been shunned...

RE: 2012 Coaster

When will we be getting any more photo updates on the plans (if at all)?

RE: 2012 Coaster

Oh, look. Some more footers have been poured and it's still a gigantic hole...

The thing that has me wondering is where the hell a lot of that dirt will be going once the coaster starts getting built.

RE: 2012 Coaster

From MT Friday, it looked like they were starting to get conduits or pipes and such in place in prep for utilities for the event building. Could have been mistaken as to what I saw, as I have not been on a construction site since I was a kid with a summer job doing day labor work.

RE: 2012 Coaster

I was there yesterday. I lost my pass and when I went to guest relations to get another, I casually asked if the woman who was helping me knew when they would announce the 2012 coaster. She said no, but did say that "parts" have arrived.

RE: 2012 Coaster

The park should be announcing very soon.

Just to throw out some press release dates of their last 3 coasters...

Griffon - officially announced on August 23, 2006.
Apollo's Chariot - officially announced on September 4, 1998.
Alpengeist - officially announced on August 31, 1996.

They could, however, launch a viral marketing campaign like they did with BGT's Cheetah Hunt so that may take a while if that happens.

RE: 2012 Coaster

From one of my sources Busch Gardens have modified small features in there plans because of the plans being stole, anyways ive also heard that Verbolten is the confirmed name going with its Forbinen forest and lightning theme.
