RE: 2012 Coaster

Zierer is probably getting whipped really hard by BGW atm. BGW is probably harassing them about making sure it opens ON TIME (Beginning of the season), and that there will be no last minute issues or adjustments. Poor Zierer, being harassed because of Moser's mistakes.

RE: 2012 Coaster

the way its looking we may have a double attraction for 2012 mt and the coaster. or mt will open at hos or ct but i doubt ct cause itd be too cold for the ride and why would you want to ride a ride and freeze your butt off in the middle of winter so im looking at a double opening for 2012

Doubt it. Busch probably has a contract in place with Zierer (just like they do with Moser) that protects them from lengthy delays like this. Moser is probably 1. pouring a lot of money into getting Mach Tower ready and 2. giving money hand over fist to BGW because of this delay. Busch isn't the one hurting, Moser is.

Zierer is going to try to get it opened on time because it's in their contract, not because they want to do better than Moser did. And it would cost them considerable amounts of money to get delayed, just like it probably is for Moser right now.

plus doesntthe construction company get bonuses if the job is done early cause i know some do

RE: 2012 Coaster

Nah, Mach Tower would significantly increase daily ticket revenue. With all this time down, they would be making so much more with Mach Tower open, and this won't have any effect on next years, seeing as the new 2012 coaster will debut.

^I'm betting the money Moser is paying BGW because of the delay is making up for any "lost ticket sales." BGW is a tourist destination, people are going to go there when they are in the area from out of town regardless if the new ride is open or not. The regulars might not come back as often, but they will always have the tourist crowd. And drop towers aren't exactly the type of rides that bring in "huge" ticket boosts.

Not only is that a strange and impractical thing to do, but I'm pretty sure Moser signed a "We'll give you x if you pay us y" contract.

It's not like the contractor would put money in an offering bowl if they didn't finish a church's addition on time. I'm sure Moser is waived of that liability. They are just, in some instances, liable for safety, part upkeep, expected operation, and providing operation requirements and the like.

I just don't think a monetary compensation for a late-opening ride is a "thing".

Not Huge, I agree. But I have noticed that EVERY time BG posts something on Facebook, no matter what the subject is, there are always several people complaining about MT not being open yet.

It is hurting them in more indirect ways too. Right now the money they spent on Media in the spring is basically wasted. It is worse than doing no good, it is making people feel decieved when they go and it's not running.

The main operating season is well over halfway through now. MT really can't have an impact for this season and all they can hope for is to have it done ASAP to apease the diehards like us and hopefully get us to renew or not cancel our season passes.

I am starting to think that in thier attempt to AVOID a fiasco (and hold a grudge) and not use Intamin, it may have bit them in the butt with a less experienced company. I hope we do not see a repeat of this with the coaster next year.

RE: 2012 Coaster

If Moser doesn't get this done before the year is up, someones going out of business real soon ;)

why? you knew what i was saying. are you just here to thrash people like me for little stuff like a punctuation or swift for not releasing classified information that only him and chris have. they dont have to release any information if they dont want to. if they didnt release anything we wouldnt know anything except what BG told us so be thankful they even gave out any pics. or info,

RE: 2012 Coaster

Forums usually promote the use of proper grammar and whoever can't follow it effectively basically gets ignored. Just throwing that out there...

And I haven't been on in like the last week, but I don't see 120 pages of schematics and other hoopla lol.

Yea I know, but we had to get this thread back on track so some pics will help. I have some of the drop hill but I really does look just the same, funny thing if you look close at the "foremen" under the blue tent they had one of those insane 6 foot diameter fans sitting right next to them the whole time....

Hopefully more next time...

Thrash people like Swift for not releasing classified information??? No clue what you are talking about. All Im saying is put a comma or period in your sentences every now and then. It helps my eyes not bleed when I read your post ;). but I digress...

I have a question. I dont know much about construction, but I always thought that when land was cleared or dirt flattened out, that there was a period when they would have to allow the dirt to settle. Will they still do that with the footers in the ground? Or is that step not necessary for some reason?

RE: 2012 Coaster

Wouldn't most of the dirt that's down there already be compacted/settled, being as it was under massive amounts of land previously?
