RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

When will all this construction start? It has to take sometime to build a coaster to be ready 1 year from now. Doesn't it? I have not seen anything.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Ok Chris same question to you. Which pics impressed/surprised you the most, and why?

Alright so let me ask you this, Swift...

With all of the pics that you have, are there still certain aspects of the designs that you don't understand? Perhaps because the pics are unclear or confusing? And do you think that some or many of the pics you and Chris have will NOT be included or will be changed drastically?

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

It appears the queue will be mostly indoors. Also it appears there will be little half circle type things at the beginning that they can open on super busy days to accommodate the crowds. The queue looks heavily themed and not just metal railings going back and forth.

I've never looked over something like this in my life. I think I have a pretty good grasp on the ride, but there will be things that none of us will know until we actually get on the thing and experience it first hand.

As for the second part of you're question, could you please elaborate a bit on what you mean?

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

What I mean is, do you think that some of the pics you guys have are a smokescreen, if you will? Or are certain sections of the layout curiously left vague, meaning that perhaps BG is keeping it top secret?

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Hey could you take the time to find any logos from elementum?

I can talk on this, the short answer to this is yes there are things BG is keeping vague. When we bid the project there were things that we were to exclude, then whoever is awarded the project would be given access to the plans with all the track and ride details. We can see the basic layout, but not the actual track elevation or any twists and turns.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Tekalion, I think Zoomy just about answered your question.

Zoomy, it's nice to see someone else with some insight into the project. You should post more often...

There are some on the first page. I'll look for some more a little later, but I think that's most of them.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

With all this detailing going on with this ride I really hope BGW hired Keith McVeen form Virtual Image Productions to do the computer animation and renderings. He does the best work out there as evident for the stuff he did for Six Flags, Cedar Fair, and more recently Cheetah Hunt for BGT.

BGW used a no-name company for Griffon and it was complete sh*t!!!

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Do y'all think that the track with stay close to the ground for the majority of the outside ride, using the terrain to it's advantage?

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

I see a Volkswagen steering wheel in your pic, Swift. but that could be there for added effect.

This project is going to be a HUGE step forward in terms of theming for Busch Gardens. The pictures of the event building look like something Disney would attempt to pull off.

Or say, Universal. Looks like Busch is trying to compete with Disney and Universal on their ride theming as well as their ticket price. Har har har

Not 700 miles away. Universal's theming is junk and looks beyond cheaply done outside of the somewhat decent things of that scarred up kid. Just sayin' lol.

Looks like they are stepping their game up though. If you go all theming with one attraction though it kind of detracts from the others. Lochness however has theming that is GREATLY overlooked with the base camp for the Nessie hunt.

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

Disney and universal both do a good job on theming. It looks like busch is investing a lot in theming lately. Cheetah hunt, manta, oktoberfest renovation, 2012 coaster, all are top notch themed improvements.

Looking at the color concept of the bridge, the train looks to resemble an older style Porsche. But that means absolutely nothing to me right now since I'm really loving the detail that is going into the event building.

If anything it looks like a db5....even the white version in the wall. They both look like modified versions of the db5....definitely not a porsche...(source:I own a 84 911) Although the windscreen on the train version reminds me of an austin 3000

Amazing concept art

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

What are all of the oval shaped things around the track in this picture?

RE: 2012 Coaster (Name To Be Discovered)

It looks like markers for the rides clearance. There's a lot of crap (hopefully good crap) going into that one building so clearance will be a premium.
