Well, I see Bizarro & Toro in the concept art on their fb page, but no sign of Thunder...

I just updated my post with the press release. It says Rolling Thunder's last day is September 8.

I feel like the drop tower is going to either A. makes the lines for Kingda Shorter or B. Make them longer

RE: 2014 Addition(s), Announcement August 29th

It's going to make the line for Kingda Ka longer if the drop tower queue starts in the Golden Kingdom. KK has been playing fourth fiddle in that park since 2010 because of it being a totally isolated attraction in the Golden Kingdom.

This.

Being connected means they complement each other and people are gonna want to get off one and ride the other.

I'm fine with this as long as it keeps the line for El Toro short! :p

Construction just started for Zumanjaro. Keep in mind the park opens in 5 weeks, yet a 400+ foot tall crane will greet guests opening day.

The crane is installed and yellow man boxes are connect to the side of the tower for work to be done.

Construction started over a month ago.  They had to reinforce the structure by adding more supports.  They are still behind schedule though and all the snow that hit the state of NJ this winter hasn't helped.  The park announced on January 15 that the ride will be opening on Memorial Day so they still have plenty of time to complete it.

Here are some construction photos from Coaster Fusion that were posted on February 9.

Great, now on every single video of a drop tower people are going to be like "Zumanjaro is way better than this piece of crap."

You have no idea how little this means to me when all I've been hearing for the last 9 years is "Kingda Ka/TTD is better than this because it goes super fast and very high." Can't wait for the people to question why El Toro is #1 when Kingda Ka is in the same park.

The three drop tower segments are coming along nicely. Middle is about 45% of the way up the tower and can be seen from outside the park on 537, the other two shouldn't be too far behind but can't be seen.

This was taken on Saturday so they could've added more to the towers.

The 2014 Park Map is out and shows how the pathway around Zumanjaro and Kingda Ka will work.

I drove by on Monday and they were adding pieces. It's going to snow up here tonight apparently so they shouldn't have gotten a lot done.

Snow AGAIN?

How much total snowfall have you gotten up there this winter?

RE: Zumanjaro 400+ tall drop towers installed on Kingda Ka

58 inches and 23 instances of snow. Actually make that 24 since it's snowing now.

EDIT: I noticed with the map that it shows a pathway going under Kingda Ka. That's a neat little point since the entire infield and anything within 25 feet of the launch track has been flagged off by the state as a restricted access Danger Zone in 2005. It's an artist's interpretation though, but I'm just pointing out that no one is going to get to stand in the infield of the ride outside of being directly under the concrete base of the tower.

I like the snow. It's so pretty.

Sorry, back on topic! I will never ride this!
