"Park News - (3/8/2025) More ride removal rumors keep coming in as parks get closer to opening for the season. In the case of Kings Dominion, we’re hearing that the Xtreme Skyflyer (Skycoaster) is expected to be closed for the 2025 season, and most likely to be removed later this year. This isn’t too surprising as a large number of these rides have been in the process of being removed from Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks over the past few years."

I’m 100% for that thing being axed. Bring on the rumored B&M hyper into the Dino’s Alive area. I’m ready for “Virginia Mako/Candymonium”

(Note I’m not saying that’s the “best” option, it’s the rumor and consistent with the C-suites vendor preferences. No confirmation otherwise so we will see).

I’m in favor, but correct me if I’m wrong a hyper coming to Old Virginia, or KD in general isn’t really a rumor so much as it is fan speculation. It gets talked about a lot, because it makes so much sense to fill a coaster gap and to balance out the park, but I don’t think there’s ever been anything concrete suggesting corporate is considering it.

Doesn’t mean it can’t/won’t happen, but man I’d love to see a hint dropped at some point that the park sees this as a valid investment in the future.

We were in that area during the ACE event and I could see no evidence of the changes to the area or prep. That obviously was a month pluss before opening day so it's possible it is still to come.

Actually the first "rumor" I heard was a Chance Hyper GT-X (100') in DA, and a GCI woodie in Safari Village. That was at least 5 years ago, so I can probably let that out, whatever the basis was.

In my opinion, KD only stands to gain from this removal. Excuse my crude drawing below, but I think most of the area within the yellow boundary should become fresh midway, and the area highlighted in orange could benefit from the addition of a flat ride (NebulaZ themed to Virginia Reel, please???).

This would make Grizzly far more accessible/visible and add another fun flat ride to the crossroads of CAG and OV. This just works so much better than two space-consuming upcharge attractions...

How realistic is it to assume that Railblazer will be moved to KD? I mean, I'm going to CGA in the summer, and I'm probably going to love Railblazer. It would be cool for it to be here but I don't know how likely that will be.

Everybody wants Railblazer to be moved to their home park! I'm fo shizzle riding in that boat as well. I'd love to see it come to KD, SFNE, TGE any of those parks on the east coast. But yeah, in all likelihood it would probably get moved to Discovery Kingdom due to its close proximity to CGA.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the area that @Zachary depicts as the path where SkyFlyer was to get a LOT of trees, and I wouldn’t mind seeing it without the path or turning the path more from there to the Member Lounge.

But I like the idea of making a new plaza area for Grizzly like they have for other rides. I guess I picture a more wooded tighter feel than the open and expansive that other rides have gotten.
