Actually, I didn’t realize that second picture was taken from behind the park. It doesn’t look like the top has been cut, at least not in any way that we can see from those photos.

You know, I think the remains of the mountain look better already without the track and supports. I felt the mountain structure was not in proportion to the coaster itself. The mountain would need to be scaled up about 1/2 its current height and footprint to make the coaster to scale.

I have been saying that for years. From my view I always thought the mountain needed to be 3x bigger. It just felt way under sized for a volcano

The original artist's rendition that was first displayed in the park (only) showed the coaster very tight and small against the mountain with almost no visible supports. I thought at that moment something didn't look possible about it.

From this video it looks like the mountain is still very intact that seems like at least a slightly promising sign,

Are we calling it yet? It's done, right? I was a skeptical as the next person when it was announced but seeing this latest pic - there's no way this thing is standing come 2 weeks time.

As of this afternoon, the whole backside is gone. The pile of cut up track and support beams grew throughout the day.

This actually looks like a posativepositive sign to me. Keeping the top intact like this would seem to be more of as challenging prodject thern just ripping down from the peak.

If the major skeletal piece stays up (the center), it's very likely KD could just be doing a full rebuilding of the mountain instead of their piddly little multi-year refurb.
