I'm curious as to how recently you've been told, because I've heard things ranging from late January to literally day before the blog post was put out.

They’ll be taking down the mountain when they come
They’ll be taking down the mountain when they come
They’ll be taking down the mountain
They’ll be taking down the mountain
They’ll be taking down the mountain when they come

They’ll be making it an empty plot of land
They’ll be making it an empty plot of land
Cedar Fair won’t give a hand
Cuz Intamin is banned
They’ll be making it an empty plot of land

I think the “compromise” for now would be cut supports at the mountain facade and only take away parts of the ride that can be seen.

I could actually totally see this happening. Seems like a win-win for the park. Remove the immediate eyesore and allow the attraction to stay SBNO indefinitely while the park weighs its options.

Frankly, I think it's possible we'll still be seeing that yellow track for months (or longer) to come.

It will probably still be standing in some form through 2020 if they try and preserve the mountain. If it goes full wrecking ball maybe a replacement attraction will come 2021 at the absolute earliest.

I stll say they chop off the ride just below where it peeks through the mountain, fill the holes, and cover the mountain in a snowy blanket of Christmas lights for WF 2019.

This thread is depressing. Just a year ago all we could think about is the excitement for Twisted Timbers.

So KD, the FIRE still works, right? Shoot that off a couple times a day and we get more "Volcano" than last year. I could see them coming up with a more economical caldera effect in the future, but for now you could give us a "last burn".

Found this video tied to The Lost World - Volcano: TBC history. The video is pretty good and fairly accurate. The only thing not correct is about Mt. Kilimanjaro (Bayern Curve) flat ride. That was housed in a stand-alone mini-mountain. I think the ride opened with the park in 1975. When KD was building "The Lost World" mountain complex, the park added a small "mountain ridge" to connect with the back of Mt. Kilimanjaro to the main L W mountain complex. That gave the area a more unified look/theme.

A car or two, or maybe a train and some signage will go. Other than that I doubt any park outside of China would be willing to pay for this ride.

Unless someone can provide a reasonable source, this sounds like a lot of bullshit if you ask me.

PS: Kings Dominion Fanatics is the same FB page that claims Kings Dominion building a launched B&M wing coaster for 2020. I don't think anyone in their right mind thinks that's an actual possibility.
