Everything inside was the same. That being said, something could pop up next weekend.

If they really wanted to save it, they could have just moved it to the wall by the car.

Dang that's all the way on the other end of Festa! Guess it's not really that far in the back of a truck but kinda thought there may be somewhere closer to store it.

Has anyone posted a picture of the new Verbolten sign? I don't recall seeing one. So, here is one I took Saturday.

Nic, that sign is not really new, it has always been there. The ride had two signs. The tall sky level one and then a lower eye level one. Here is a more direct picture of the area that was actually repaved.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, I just don't feel like looking for it! :p
How has Verbolten been doing for ChristmasTown. Has it closed a lot or been open most of the time?

The weather's been messing with the ride quite a bit. There have been days where the ride runs well (usually days with above 40 temps) and days where the ride shuts down for difficulties and cold weather.

It's basically hit miss.

Despite all of the theming and speacial effects, Verbolten has never really felt immersive to me. It's fun and all, but I always felt like I was in a building, not hurdling through the forest. I think I have finally put my finger on why this is:

1. The most obvious is that you clearly turn straight into a (very ugly) show building with little theming on the exterior

2. The sets are too light. You go from pitch black to glowing bright green trees. I love the unique art style Verbolten has, but it draws attention to all of the empty space in the show building. You are never emersed on all sides and while it looks pretty, you never feel like the woods are all around you. There are two fixes to this problem: one, use darker colors for the sets, or two, use a headlight effect. Rock n Rollercoaster is a lot like Verbolten in the way it has bright colored set pieces surrounded by pitch darkness. Rock n Rollercoaster succeeds in feeling immersive because the effects don't light up until you get to them, as if being illuminated by the car's headlights. If Verbolten added in this relatively simple effect I think it would make the ride a thousand times better.

2. In my opinion, the design of the track is very important to the theming of the ride. As in most indoor coasters, Verbolten has you racing around the building in circles. This doesn't make it feel like you are twisting and turning through the forest at all. I hate to compare Verbolten to Rock n Rollercoaster again, but it's a good example of how I think an indoor coaster should be. In rock n Rollercoaster they solve this problem by tilting the sets at different angles. This gives you the illusion that you are twisting and turning through the city. Something like this would really help Verbolten.

3. It's too pretty. Don't get me wrong, I love how beautiful Verbolten's sets are, but it feels like anything but a haunted forest. Verbolten's designers decided against moving parts, which I respect, but brightly painted set pieces do nothing to make you feel like you're in danger and the wolves theme is the only one that really shows you any type of danger (unless you count a muffled voice). If Verbolten was painted with darker colors and maybe showed twisted dead trees instead of blossoming green ones, think it would help a lot with the overall them. I also think an effect like a shadow of a monster moving across the trees would be cool.

Anyway that's just my opinion on why Verbolten doesn't feel immersive to me. I still think it's a great ride and I really enjoy it, but it could definitely be improved.

Two cents time

The leaves and props are meant to be big and neon colored so you can see them clearly and you know what they are. Darker colors will just appear blurry to everyone on the ride. The dark colors can work with slowdown sections like the first brake run and the freefall, but in the high speed parts, the props are fine.

The actual headlights are turned on inside the building now. :D Too bad they don't work very well. As for having the effects go off at different times to simulate headlights, it seems interesting enough. Rock N' Roller Coaster still has big, cartoony props like Verbolten's though.

How are the seats on RnRC tilted at different angles? Are they all reclined back?

Was the stone wall surrounding Verbolten's exterior queue always there, or did the park add it when that ride opened?  Also, did they use the same exit stairs/walkway as for BBW, or has this been reconfigured as well?

No and no.  The old Big Bad Wolf entrance area was much more subtle and was mostly wooded.  Also, the stairs went higher and followed a different course.  Much of the area and station were redone for Verbolten.

I felt the same way. People thought I was crazy. I think it's a good ride, but the lack of facade completely destroys the feel of the ride... I also wish you dipped a bit closer to the ground out of the station, and there were some set and some props on ground leading up to the building... The fact that Verbolten apparently cost more than RotM at universal completely mystifies me considering the technology and the total immersive experience you get in that ride... But some of these people also claim RotM is one of the worse rides ever so, "?".

agreed, if only you couldn't see the building from the train. or something at least distracted from it. I think the concept are showed the coaster going over a field of flowers. We ended up with a grassy ditch. Regardless, that entrance needs more trees around it.
