THe construction sign at least feels more custom for the ride. If there was no blue sign it would be extremely needed. The sign itself doesn't really bottleneck anything. The planter is was in is another story.

And honestly you need to bottleneck into a queue you don't go from wide open pathway to tight skinny queue without a little bottlenecking.

Actually bottlenecking before bottlenecking again, is exactly what you don't need. The sign would've still bottlenecked even if the garden wasn't under it. The flower bed only extended out to the side at most, 1 foot on each side. The blue sign is a lot more custom made then the construction sign. An illuminated custom made sign is a lot more special than a construction sign with a white sign put over the top of it.

Yes because it is very 'custom' to have a blue oval, generic car, and then overlay a name on a sign that lights up.

Nice to see you avoided the open pathway to skinny queue delma. Honestly I see the sign and the planter to be like a sifter that kind of evens out the groups as the get into line.

OMG! That was the best sign Verbolten ever had! Why? Oh why?! I can't believe they got rid of a useless piece of signage! I'm cancelling my Pass! This was the final straw! Next thing you know Christmas Town will be one tree short!

It is those who stop fighting are the ones that are letting BGW fail.

This is coming from the person who said all of Pompeii's old theming was useless, Illuminights was a good event, Killarney Kommotion was a good show, the park needed Jay-Z, and the list goes on, so please don't accuse other people of doing the exact thing that you're doing yourself.(and to a more extreme extent at that) Just because you care for a sign that got taken away, that I had no influence in, doesn't make you the absolute perfect BGWfan.

Okay back on topic, I'm tired of fighting.

My only beef with the signage being removed is the cost of such a custom well made sign to begin with. I am sure that if you add the cost of the sign and the electrician to route power, then sign removal, repaving, another electrician to come fix the outlet costs good money.

Here on the forums people debate everything. Yes- the sign in respect to all of the park is minuscule. But alas, it is something to consider when you see budgets being cut and money wasted.

As someone who is at the park ALL the time, I hear guests ask where the ride entrances are all the time.. and right IN FRONT of the ride. I imagine that the people working near Verbolten will get asked that 10 times more now as I doubt the 10ft pole with a sign on top is the last thing a person notices when going to a theme park for the first time. A big yellow construction sign right at eye level that says "Verbolten"- well ... you connect the dots.

So yes- the sign is gone.

Rest in peace Verbolten sign. It would have been nice to see you placed elsewhere instead. Of course ... it may be painted white and hidden in a HOS maze next year. There is always that hope.

For what it is worth, Nora is right: the entrance to Verbolten is not exactly intuitive.

That said, I have no feelings about the sign one way or another.

If they really wanted to save it, they could have just moved it to the wall by the car.

Either way, like Nora said, people ask where a ride is, while standing in front of the entrance to said ride. This isn't just for Verbolten, it's for all of them.

And I'm with Nic on this one, I have no feelings one way or another on it.

Anyways, does Bolt have anything special done to it for CT? Or is it just Christmas trees on the hill?

We did see A light on under the covered area at the top of the drop. Thought it was The Star of Bethlehem. other than that, just trees I think. Anything else from those of you who rode it?

Well not the ride itself but the Verbolten car out by the entrance is strung with lights this year, much like last year.

Anything in the preshow? I know during Howl-O-Scream the video has pumpkins in it and Gerta talks about HOS in some way.

I went Saturday and it was still a walk on, but I did go through the tourist center, when the pre-show was playing. I took a quick glance, but I didn't see any decorations near Gerta, it looked the same as it would have in the regular season. However, I don't know if what she said had changed.:-/
