On preview day I got wolf, but for some particular reason, we dropped. waited. waited. probably about 10-20 seconds just waiting there with noises of some wind blowing past us. Weird.

That's pretty normal.  That just means that they're waiting for the next block to clear.

what does this mean?

A block is a section of track that can stop and move the train. Two trains cannot be on the same block, so a train must pass a block before the next train can move from the previous block. Make sense?

yes, thank you madridbot :) does that mean this is more likely to happen on a day where they have a lot of trains running and they get backed up in front of the station?

It's hard to say. A significant delay in station operations will cause a delay either way. I'd honestly say it's more likely on a day with more trains because the blocks at the station can only hold two trains.

Additionally, the coaster can launch only one coaster at a time. So the launch into the station has to occour first if there is a backup in dispatching trains.

I've been told several times the cycle is per train. I know during an ace event we were given an hour of ert on verbolten and i stayed on the same train without getting off and experienced all 3 endings before it repeated again. I did ride it 12 times that hour (twice being the only one on the train). I think it's just luck of the draw when getting on and off and getting the same ending that many times!

I took the tour when it first opened and I can't remember if it was sequentially or random, but it definitely wasn't setup to keep the same show for an hour...every train got something different. There was a separate computer in the operator cabin controlling it.

I thought I posted this, but don't see it - I just wanted to confirm that all the show effects are there, its just the blackout curtains that are missing?

Block sections are my biggest issue with anything like PC, NL, and RCT. They don’t count the top of the lift as a block.

FWIW Bolt has the ability to be a 5 train, but (from what I learned in a tour) they typically stay 5 train operation because of the complexities of a 5 Block/2in station operation. Bolt has the added complexity that it’s “sister” (cheetah) does not which is the show building and because of effects the inability to have multiple trains in the event building at once. The blocks of Bolt is one of the most complex I’ve seen/heard and there’s a reason why explaining it is so hard.

This of course leads to discussions of brake runs/Block brakes/trim brakes, what they do, how they effect things, and why some can trigger the start of a new train.

So is Verboltens building really gutted?  I have only ridden it once in 2012.  Hoping to set up a BGW membership soon and get back there this year.  If it really is gutted that's a shame and makes me really despise what the blackfish situation appears to be doing to BGW from my perspective.

No. It has all of the previous effects. The building actually seems darker than it was in previous seasons.

That's simply untrue. Several large set pieces are entirely missing inside the building; you can plainly see the floor and the empty blacklit space where the sets used to be. Even the gorgeous moon box is gone. Plus, you can see through to previously isolated sections across the building thanks to the loss of the visual barriers and the additional sunlight leaking inside.

I find it much darker.

The only place it’s darker than usual is the MCBR. Without the blacklit wall, it’s pitch black there. But in pretty much any other part of the building portion of the ride you can see the track, the floor, and really any other structure that shouldn’t be seen.

This is exactly what I was talking about, too. Without the curtain pieces, you can see straight through to the entry launch, the light from the opening, and the helix where the moon box normally is. It is very disappointing.

When the wait on this ride is over an hour it'd be nice if they used both sides of the station. I'm guessing they may not be fully staffed yet, but when the line is moving so slowly and you come into a half empty station, you end up with some upset guests.

If it's a weekday this time of year it's 100% lack of staff.

I agree it's lack of staff, and the staff running it are still struggling some, which is slowing it down. Guests in line around me were starting to get more and more vocal with their annoyance. The double loading station is a blessing when it's able to be used, but when it's not, people start being cranky.
