I know about those leaked drawings but I was inquiring as to whether the exact series of events he described were leaked (the lightning bolt striking, falling into a pile of leaves, etc.).

Also, I think Revenge of The Mummy sucks. As a coster, it's weak. As a darkride, it's weak. It doesn't do anything particularly well. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster makes up for the crappy theming during the ride with a thrilling coaster. Revenge of The Mummy has crappy theming with crappy coaster elements. I think it was when Imhotep summoned his warrior mummies and they simply had some stiff figures pop up (something you'd expect to find at a Six Flags during halloweens, as opposed to a freaking high profile Universal attraction, to which I'd expect them to deliver more then a single animatronic) that I knew the ride was going to suck. It's not much more exciting then Twister...

Ummm... What's wrong with you?:p I'll give you the non-moving warrior mummies... To a degree, but the effect your describing would've probably cost half of what they spent on the ride to implement... They would need water proof, fire proof, humanoid AA's that can fully erect themselves realistically in half a second... and then animate. They are also in full light because of the fire so you would have to find a way to create a humanoid AA that can support itself on two feet ... Not even the Main mummy in the first scene (which IS the most technologically advanced themepark AA) does this. Also they would have to reset in under 30 seconds... You see them for about 5 seconds at the most. What you are describing would be the most technologically advanced theme park AA in the world that is not even the centerpiece AA of the attraction, nor are they the focal point of the scene and then you would have six of them...

But it is still easily one of the best themed coaster experiences on the planet right now with some amazing special effects... You know, ones that actually work... Also, there is more than one AA in all versions of the mummy, you just must've been too preoccupied with how "horrible" those non moving pop-up mummies were to not enjoy the ride... It's not the most thrilling coaster, but it really isnt trying to be. Due to the size of the building they really couldn't have the thing travelling much faster, nor could they have done much else with the layout.

And rumor's of jaws leaving have been circulating since potter 1.0. Trust me, I'm very disappointed myself, but the numbers they are making from potter 1.0 are so ridiculous in a way they justify such a ridiculous move... and I've had about 2 years to prepare myself for it's departure.

RE: Verbolten

I loved the mummy, I honestly didn't care if they were cutouts or not. I hope that level of theming is put into Verbolten. Has anyone announced they will be live tweeting the HHT event / given a hash tag?

RE: The Verbolten HHT

You may want to phrase it like this so they know you're not talking about Zierer: "I know the manufacturer is Zierer, but I was wondering who the designer is."

The theming sucks. The queue, as with most Universal queues, is amazing. The on-ride theming just doesn't compare. Just a couple of rooms at the beginning with decent Egyptian tomb decor and then it's all cutouts and projection screens, during what has to be one of the most boring coasters ever. I felt like I was riding Disaster Transport at Cedar Point with the slow moving pace and lame ass glow-in-the-dark cutouts. King Kong occupied one of the largest sound stages on the east coast, which filled up ever inch recreating an incredibly detailed New York City, only to be torn out by a coaster that doesn't utilize all the space and that spends half it's duration in the dark with cutouts.

I agree wholeheartedly:p

Don't even get me started on Potter (just look at how they de-themed Dueling Dragons famously detailed queue line). I've had many people ask me - after telling them the news of more Potter on the way - if it's still going to be called Universal or if they're just going to rename it Harry Potter World. My response; good question.

What sucks about Jaws leaving is that it was the last outdoor themed attraction in Universal. I loved just how detailed the city of Amity was and how anyone could get into the attraction without having seen the movie (it relied on the universal fear of sharks, as opposed to the characters and events from the movies like the Potter shit does). It was also modeled after the incredibly popular Jungle Cruise, which is just timeless and more Potter doesn't interest me. There is enough. I'd honestly rather see Transformers go there then more Potter, which just seems like overkill for a franchise that's over (Transformers at least has another movie coming out, so even if it sucks like the rest, it will be generating excitement). These attractions take 2 to 3 years to complete, who can say just how popular Potter will be that far out when the series has been over for a while and fans have grown up.

Just to clear a few things up:

When will this open?
How much will it cost?
What is the estimated ride length / duration / time?
Will there be animatronics, sets, 270 projection screens in the event building or just the cutouts (I honestly wouldn’t expect an answer but you never know)?
The exterior of the event building, to what extent will it be themed (i.e should we expect only a portion of it to be themed, like Curse of DarKastle)?
How do the car headlights come into play (just so we don’t have to discuss it ever again)?
The...gnomes...what?

This just because:

Anything you’d like to share about the Germany train station?

RE: Verbolten

Sorry to bring this up again, but I have numerous sources that say that employees are being told that the ride duration is 3:25... Just sayin... Do I believe the park is deliberately lying to its employees, no, but I still think they don't have a good idea of the ride time

RE: Verbolten

question on the picture of the bridge i posted...in the right side towards the back, is that the roof of the bridge on the ground or something else? i just noticed that.

RE: Verbolten

Off topic time...

who can say just how popular Potter will be that far out when the series has been over for a while and fans have grown up.

There's no denying Potter's got staying power. The first installment was written in the 90s and the last movie came out not too long ago. Potter's got plenty of steam and will continue to sell big for a long time.

I haven’t ridden Mummy yet (I might do Orlando’s this summer depending on whether we spend a week at Disney or a few days at Universal/Sea World) but the ride gets extremely high reviews from many enthusiasts. Universal must be doing something right if that’s the case. As for Dragons, I really can’t speak for it. The queue looked pretty impressive, and its a shame Universal stripped it away. Luckily Forbidden Journey looks impressive and should make up for the lack of Dragon's theming (but the dueling is another story).

As for Jaws, yes it’s sad to see a classic attraction leave, but the new coaster does look pretty interesting. As long as the ride can deliver, I don’t have a problem with the replacement.

Bringing this tangent back to the topic at hand, BGW replaced a good ride with something potentially better. Regardless of who's behind the theme elements. These guys have worked with Blackstone before on different Universal projects and they clearly know what they're doing.

Back to the headlight/ride time discussion.

RE: Verbolten

From when you sit down in your seat to when you get out of it? Sure. 3min is fine.
Actual RIDE time from moving away from the station to FBR? 90sec.

For any of you children trying to contest this, the Griffon fact sheet said IT was 3min too and we all know that is simply not true from top of lift hill to FBR.
