They have this system at KD on Volcano.

Not anymore. They are insanely expensive to up-keep apparently.

Hopefully, Verbolten will keep this video feature.

Also, I was told they spent millions alone on just the special effects.

RE: Verbolten

they have this on rip ride rocket. It was pretty funny to see my gf's face when it went vertical. That coaster is mad rough though.

RE: Verbolten

Also, with all the special effects put into this coaster, hopefully they don't end up like previous special effects on other coasters *thinks of LNM and BBW*

RE: Verbolten

That most likely wont be a problem because of how much was invested in the special effects for this ride, plus they are the backbone of the experience, without them there is no point... (you aren't just talking about the video recording are you?)

RE: Verbolten

I was talking about everything on Verbolten, after all it practically is nothing but special effects here and there it seems like. Also, I think Verbolten is the most themed coaster in the park since LNM. I mean, take a look at the queue and then all the stuff going in to Verbolten and all the other coasters.

RE: Verbolten

I don't know why, but they just turned off LNM's effects, but the themeing for LNM right now is most themeing they have ever done for a coaster besides Verbolten.

Verbolten Status Update

It would seem that the track is not yet completed seeing that there's still a piece laying in the parking lot.

RE: Verbolten

BBW and Alpengeist were pretty well themed too. BBW had that village and Alpengeist has a great-looking station. I'll also throw Grover out there as a well-themed ride.

My biggest fear is that most of the complex effects will deteriorate like DarKastle's in the coming years. Hopefully that won't happen, but who knows?

Since we're talking marketing, why doesn't BGW have a sign by the highway. KD does it, and Seaworld does it. They could use the LCD sign like KD does to easily put up messages.

Pretty sure it might have something to do with the golf course that sits between the park and the highway.

I was thinking more like a sign that Seaworld has. Not more than 10-20 feet tall. But they could add an LCD or LED display like KD has. This would just be right before the BGW exit.

Although, knowing driving patterns, this would probably cause a 2 mile backup.

The park would have to apply to the State of Virginia for a permit to have a sign installed near the interstate because they don't own any of that land. And they would probably be denied since the state is all about preserving the natural and historical setting of the Williamsburg area. KD has one because it is on their property.

Here is the State Code regarding the permits:

§ 33.1-360. Permits required.

Except as in this article otherwise provided, no person, whether engaged in the business of outdoor advertising or not, shall erect, use, maintain, post or display any advertisement or advertising structure in this Commonwealth, outside of municipalities, without first obtaining a permit therefor from the Commissioner of Highways and paying the annual fee therefor, as provided in this article. A permit shall be required for an off-premises sign, advertisement, or advertising structure authorized by § 33.1-370 if it is located within a municipality and is visible from the main traveled way of any interstate, federal-aid primary, or national highway system highway unless the owner of such sign, advertisement, or advertising structure has entered in a Certification Acceptance Program as described in § 33.1-351.

RE: Verbolten

Haha, you guys are totally ridiculous....I go away for a week and you all argue for pages about sneaking into the park! Besides, it's way easier than you guys are making it out to be....I mean, errrr....

Regardless, their marketing is.....retarded. and I hate it.

Being said, I think Swift is totally correct about having the only drop track in America for a while justifying it's cost.

RE: Verbolten

The talk about sneaking in is extremely ironic being that a Busch security guard just came to my work :p As ridiculous as everyone else is being, I should have asked him the best way to sneak into the park during the off season ;)

RE: Verbolten

Park security isn't as big as I would think it to be. I mean it is just easy to slip past them, not inferring anything in that.
