I wonder why hasn't Hershey bought Cadbury back in 2010 since at least cadbury candy has names that translate well into theme park rides
Hersheypark is run by Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, who's sole owner is the Hershey Trust. The Trust has a controlling shareholder interest in the Hershey Company (formerly Hershey Foods). Both Hersheypark and The Hershey Company funnel millions back into the school, every year.

In other words, Hersheypark is a very small side project for a private school, far from the "picnic ground for factory workers/trolley park" origins. I know we're on a rollercoaster forum, but it's not really the priority in the grand scheme of things. I don't think they're making acquisition deals on the food side by thinking about rides to theme, etc.

Hershey's dark is amazing and their chocolate-adjacent stuff is the highest quality you'll find mass produced. I went to college 15 mins away from the town and slandering Hershey is blasphemous. It's just the regular milk bars that are kind of mid.
Hershey's Special Dark is ok, but is pretty low tier dark chocolate. Maybe/probably it's the best dark chocolate as far as mass produced chocolate goes, but that doesn't make it great. Their milk chocolate is certainly worse, but then I don't especially like milk chocolate to begin with.

I have to say that it would be nice if Hershey Park lost the license for Hershey products
You either get Hershey or generic themes.

It would be nice to see the park branch out more and license some IPs for a change. Cartoons, bands, sports teams, video games, etc. Even something like a Meow Wolf attraction (like Elitch Gardens has) would be a nice addition to the park.

Google Maps did update (park is set up for Dark Nights only a few weeks old) to show the air tanks in the storage area (red circle), and the new fence line (blue). There is more construction that the Disney Lovers HP video had, but I'm not ready to call this work for a 2026 attraction yet as it looks like utility and hill grading work for now.
