During preseason and opening day I could probably do a good 3-4 rides on it before my thighs and legs started to hurt.

Your legs aren't meant to hold that much force on them like that in such a repetitive fashion, so it's natural people start noticing their pain tolerance getting tested.

Geeze, this makes me wonder how much I am going to enjoy Steel Vengeance or if I’m going to be begging for the brakes by the end. But yeah I remember the first ride just being so overwhelming.

I never had a problem with SV, though I only got to ride it once. I recall the elements being intense, but large enough to remain comfortable.

I've seen so many reports of only really being intense or great in the front or back row, but I prefer closer to the middle of the train because the forces are less. The rear has more force, while the front is more sudden. Also have specific points I hold on, to the bar with arms crossed (heard later they tell you to hold on that way when getting in Hakugei). Especially the stretch with the trick track.

In my view, TT replaced Dominator as the best designed coaster in the DMV region, but still can't match the tears-in-your-ears of I305 front row.

Alright……..the good thing happened finally. I rode Twisted Timbers today after staring at it sadly for 3 years. All the meal prep and elliptical runs have paid off! Man what a ride. I actually went over to it earlier and couldn’t get the green light at all. So I left and went to Country Kitchen, then went to Grizzly, then the Parched Pig, then White Water Canyon, then the Parched Pig, then Shenandoah Lumber, then the Parched Pig again and then went back to Apple Zapple to catch a ride before heading to Anaconda to wrap up today…….then out of curiosity I went over to TTs test seat again and just tried going down with the bar under my gut……and I got the green light of all times finally.

This is easily one of the best of the now 125 coasters I’ve ridden (I guess I just had to ride Texas Stingray first this week or something?). My only issue was the huge amount of pain in my thighs during the insane airtime moments. Does that always happen to everyone or just larger riders? It was definitely a little annoying during the ride and rather pervasive to my enjoyment but in my 3rd ride I just kinda braced a little more and it didn’t hurt as much. The first ride I ever had on it I rode in the last car and holy crap this ride is a lot. It’s just boom boom boom the entire time (and no not the day fireworks at 7pm though those were going off in my 3rd ride in the front row). Love it so happy I finally got to ride it. Wish my thighs didn’t hurt so bad during the ride but it’s fine absolutely fantastic and a top 10 ride for me possibly top 5 I know I liked it more than NTAG (my only RMC) back in 2012 which was nowhere near as insane so now I guess I have to figure it out how it compares to I305 as that would be what’s above NTAG for my steel coasters and #2 in my rankings. But whatever I’m just happy I can ride everything at KD again. Got on Dominator too today for the first time in 7 years as well. TT gets a 10 out of 10 easily.
Congrats man! Keep kicking ass!

^appreciate that! This thing is a game changer for my KD visits. Now just to figure out how to reduce the thigh pain.

I'm no physical specimen but I used to be much heavier. Lost a ton of weight. Became sorta skinny-fat.

Anyhow. This is just my advice as a 6'4" big dude who loves a good roller coaster: after you've lost the weight you're looking to lose (or even as you're losing) incorporate large muscle group training. Specifically for your case, do squats. You'll fit in the cars easier and you'll bounce back better.

Except for Skyrush.

Fuck Skyrush.

^I don't disagree. I found this makes Timbers rather rough to grab several laps on. I honestly think I305 might be more "re-ridable" and that's saying something. I love KDs super stacked OD top 2 but they are definitely not rides to go and just grab 10 laps on.

Does anyone know the real attendance increase TT had? I keep hearing from all these enthusiasts yt vids that it increased by 0% And I find that hard to believe.

I doubt the folks from KD management or CF corporate are on here to chat about it, but aren't there periodic investor earnings calls where such information may be divulged?

Any large CapEx project at any of their properties would be considered an investment, so ROI would surely be scrutinized on these calls.

Does anyone else feel like the back car on Timbers is a bit overwhelming? I love it to death but man the last 30% of the ride just feels absolutely insane back there to me for some reason. Also yeah that's definitely where the leg pain can start! I love how relentless this ride is you definitely don't get any breathers between the overbank and the brake run. It's just boom boom boom the entire way. I particularly love the sequence between the cutback and the Zero-G roll. Just absolutely insane.

Yeah my I lapped it for a like 11 rides in the back row and my legs were purple...

I got another ride on this yesterday with my 7 year old daughter. She loved it, me not so much. We sat in the middle hoping it would be a little more enjoyable for me. This thing creates far too much pain on my legs to say it's enjoyable.

The lockers were having issues. I had everything off of me except my sunglasses, which wouldn't fall off but that was not acceptable to them so I had to hop out of line and chase my wife down.

I was surprised how much less painful it was on my subsequent rides to the first day I got in it. I was holding on for dear life after that to reduce the pain but now I don't feel it unless I ride several times still nothing like before though. It's insane I find I305 slightly more re-ridable.

A guest some how got their cell phone through to TT tonight and had it out. The train was held on the break run till security could meet them at the station. Nice to see rules with teeth but sitting there for several minutes is no fun.

We rode this once yesterday and for me it hurt. It's fun, but it's just not something I can ride more than once. If anything it's gotten worse for me. I used to want to and did re-ride a few times in a row before it would hurt, but now after one ride I want to get off and head to another ride. I love parts of the ride, and parts of it I just find myself bracing to minimize the pain. Basically every short fast hill, especially the tilted ones, aren't much fun.
