As Top Thrill 2 was closed during the weekend at Cedar Point, speculation quickly began swirling across social media about the cause of the closure -- with some suggesting the ride could be closed indefinitely.
So what's actually true?
Cedar Point says Top Thrill 2 is expected to reopen very soon -- as early as Monday.

"Top Thrill 2 is currently down for mechanical reasons," Cedar Point spokesperson Tony Clark told 3News in an email Sunday afternoon. "We anticipate it will reopen tomorrow."
Clark did not elaborate on what those "mechanical reasons" involve, but we did ask for more information. We will update this story upon receiving his response.

Nope. Still down. I guess they’ve been testing it all morning and it’s just not making the third launch now

So. Bit of a tragic situation unfolded last night

But apparently somebody had a heart attack and dropped dead after riding TT2, according to several Cedar Point groups online.

Edit: Okay so new information, but lot of conflicting info saying he died or he’s in critical condition at Firelands…

All I know 100% for sure is Sandusky FD got called out to the ride and found a guy in full cardiac arrest. Either way, not a good situation.
