For a capacitor going boom? I'm no expert, but I assume we wouldn't be expecting a crane like that if that capacitor rumor was true...?
I think this confirms the other issues rumored about the spike given the partial closure of the midway. Caps in drives are big, but it would most likely be in an electrical room, out of sight of prying eyes. Although, and hear me out, there could be... two issues... gasp!

Anyone else extremely concerned that the crack wasn’t found until after the union pushed for closer inspections…. very reassuring that they are pennypinching their maintenance crew too.

And this is after I’ve already heard whispers the last few years that the maintenance at CP was a joke. TTD’s incident didn’t teach them anything I guess

How could a brand new ground up element be cracking already? This makes me worried for falcons flight tbh
I mean, completely different manufacturer. Granted, it’s overly ambitious even for Intamin, but this shouldn’t have anyone concerned about a roller coaster being built from the ground up by a different manufacturer, rather than a modification to a 22 year old ride that was done by a completely unqualified third party.

Fury says "hi."

A crack in a steel coaster is not all that unusual. The severity of the crack and how long it takes to get found are the bigger issues.

There is a LOT of variation in steel grades. It's quite possible this is just one bad weld or a flawed piece of steel which can happen. there's also a LOT of redundancy put into a structure like this so if a weld fails or a piece breaks from stress there is no immediate danger.
