I honestly don't know what to expect, I would like to see some of their older woodies get some "unique" love.

Do you mean gasoline and lighter? I say that's some unique love.

I would love to see a GCI woodie replace one or two of the current woodies. Except Rebel Yell. Rebel Yell just needs some rework all around.

GCI loooooves classic coasters and Grizzly is heavily influenced off of the famous Coney Island (Ohio) Wildcat. Just stringing things together since GCI has done some trackwork on older coasters, too.

I think KD needs something completely unique that no other park has. That being said, I will share my idea. A steel/wood hybrid with a 200' lift hill that sends you so deep into the woods in so many different directions that you become unsure if you'll ever return to the park. As the train begins to lose momentum and the speed necessary for your return is obviously gone, you lose hope. Then are launched into a gentle rise of track, above the trees, revealing how far from civilization you are. while at the same time renewing your hope for a return with speed! Yes....a launching wooden hybrid with a lifthill into the depths of a forest is my idea :)

I agree with the hyper wood coaster but, launching is a little insane. I don't think a wood structure could handle that unless it's a steel launch section. I would love to see that utilize the old safari park and the woods. It would be a little expensive and a little challenging to build but, I think they can do it.

I can't remember who said it(GCI or RMC?), but I'm pretty sure they said that they have the technology to have a launched wooden coaster, they just need a park to ask for it.

GCI, GGi, and RMC have stated at some point that they are all capable of a launching wooden roller coaster. I'm sure Intamin can do it too if any park is insane enough to go with them after the last 4 years in the US.

Now that I see first hand what's going on in the area, I'm not seeing any new wood work. The only thing missing is the trains. So... personally, I wouldn't doubt that Hurler could be leaving...

KD shouldn't add a wooden coaster in my opinion. When you go and look at grizzly or Hurler there are barely lines for them ever(that are long). Even rebel yell the most popular woody in the park isn't as good anymore. Last summer I just saw both sides of it open twice. Then you go over to Volcano and have lines that take a few hours. They need more rides like that, that people will wait for.

If KD is going to continue its current trend... We're going to get something that fires shots at at BGW. This is their opportunity to upset the balance in their favor, and I'm willing to bet we are getting something that's just "too good". B&M's first launch? or a RMC with a launch?

Either way, It should be something to look forward to.

^ B&M didn't manufacture that launch, they just designed the coaster and the track.

Word on the street is B&M has a few designs they haven't revealed yet... And another is that they are willing to build a launch, finally.

I am to lazy to go find the URL at the moment, but if anyone follows amusment leaks on Twitter there was a transcript from a closed session of the Charlotte City Counsel where Cedar Fair told them that either Caro or KD would be their flagship park in the southeast and local stimulus money decided that. Nutshell from the session was they where either going to put a large ride in at Caro or KD but not both and Caro won.

Yeah, it would be sad to see it go yet good for fresh new ride. Like they said a ride like the Leviathan would be awesome.

Isn't Leviathan very similar to Intimidator 305? Not exactly talking layout, but they're both giga coasters
