I think you both made your points, and then it became clear that nothing else if any use was going to come of a debate between two people talking across each other. I did not shut down the substantive discussion; I asked you two in particular to move on, since you were a achieving nothing by round three.

Soooooo.....If they rip out the carts, close dinos alive, and build some sort of coaster winding through there (and back again), Please please please keep the dinosaurs there for fly by dino action! They could call it 'Tempestosaurus'!

I actually designed a coaster they could put in with dinosaurs alive 2 years ago. I thought a launched hyper coaster could go good behind dinosaurs alive that would wind back in forth then at the end go over in the woods by white water canyon and the log flume. Maybe call it dinosaur run.

As with the other two "leaks" I have shared this afternoon, take this one with an enormous grain of salt. However, my "inside" source has told me that Kings Dominion is indeed scheduled to get its next major attraction (more than likely a coaster) in 2016.

I would love to see a B&M. The park needs one. Doesn't matter what kind. Although what I'd like to see the most is a custom L-shaped hyper starting where the go-karts are and turning to go along I95 where Dinosaurs Alive is currently. The park also needs an airtime machine. Sure there's Rebel Yell, but something with some ejector airtime would be amazing.

I could see them going for another tall coaster like intimidator 305 because they only have one roller coaster over 200 feet tall.  The next highest is dominator at 161 feet. A B&M would be great over in old virginia.

I would love to see another racing coaster but with an intentional backwards train. Not a woodie and not B&M (I doubt they would do such a thing.) But certainly something similar in layout to Apollo except taller.

What I think the park would do is a 200ft B&M wing coaster, because BGW does not have one and the closest one is at dollywood. Although I would rather see an invert or hyper, BGW already has those.

I could totally see something like that happening, because it is unique to the area. What if they combined a wing rider (or a flyer, for that matter) with elements of others coasters? Launched wing rider? Flying hyper coaster? Such possibility.

Also, welcome to the forum, Caleb!

Thx Joe. Would love a flying hyper! Who knows what we will get. But if we are getting a coaster for 2016, should we expect teasers/construction sites on opening day/season pass holder day? I wouldn't be suprised to see the go-carts gone!

I think they will make an early announcement of their 2016 ride because a 6 year gap in coasters there is big, so they will probably get a top of the line unique coaster they want to show off.

I think the rumor was that when Busch bought Alpengheist they had a clause in the contract that B&M wouldn't sell a coaster within a certain radius of the park. SFA and KD haven't bought a new B&M. No one has ever said they knew all the details of that deal, but I'd wager that as soon as that contract is over (maybe 20 years from the sale of Alpengheist?) that KD will buy the best B&M they can.
I'm going to dig this conversation up and comment on it. I was on the fence about the so called 'exclusivity' B&M contract in discussion at this point in the thread. I really had not seen anything tangible to convince me that it could exist. Until now :) I pulled this from the WiKi page for Leviathan. "in the early planning stages of Leviathan, had Bolliger & Mabillard declined to make a roller coaster over 300 feet (91 m), the park would have gotten another manufacture to design the roller coaster. Walter Bolliger admitted that he "owed" the park, as an inverted roller coaster could not be built several years earlier due to an exclusivity clause." I am now convinced that such a contract most likely exists/existed between BGW and B&M. I am truly hoping that expires VERY soon!

As I have said before, it most likely existed, and has been dead for a while. Considering BGW's last coaster wasn't a B&M, it would be very unimaginable for B&M to keep the contract after being rejected on project 2012. Other than that, SEAS as a whole has not been interested in B&M in over five years now. Corporate most likely would not let BGW keep that contract after they severed ties with the company, going from an exclusively B&M amusement park chain, to not using them at all in the last 5 years now.

It 100% does exist. A very well informed tour guide down in Busch Gardens Tampa told me a boatload of info about this. I think the contract ends for dive coasters located in the U.S in 2016 or 2017 but I don't know when the exclusivity contract ends for B&M's located near BGW.

I wouldn't take anything a tour guide tells you too seriously. It wasn't easy for me to keep from correcting my tour guide every ten minutes when I took the insider tour.

Hint: Big Bad Wolf did not close after 30 years of service, despite what my tour guide insisted.

This. My tour guide was closer on the BBW info, but still off by a year. He also said Verbolten was the fastest launch in the state.

I usually would agree with that stament as one tour guide told me DarKastle opened in 07 but, this guy knew what he was doing. He carried a ton of knowledge about the development of Cheetah Hunt, what the future of the park holds, and quite a bit of info of SWP&E parks. Something really interesting I remember him telling me was they considered Premier for Cheetah Hunt but none of the parks in the chain have worked with them before so they turned them down. I wonder if that means Tempesto is a guinea pig attraction for things to come. Back on topic, I want a wingrider at KD since we have nothing like that close by but I imagine we'll receive a hyper. I crossed out invert since the park already has Volcano.

Ok, all contracts aside, lets assume for a moment that KD is 'permitted' to construct a new custom B&M coaster for 2016. Do not get me wrong, I love Rebel Yell, but what if it were to be replaced by the worlds only B&M 'racing' Hyper. Skew it clockwise 20 degrees so that it can be extended and pass behind I305. Paint it white with one side having a blue train and the other side red. Leaving the original RY idea of lots of airtime hills with side by side action until the turnaround. I know this would probably be too expensive for KD to conceive, but I think it would be incredibly unique while at the same time, replace a dying ride.
